Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are one of the most private couples in Hollywood. It’s very rare to catch a fact or know something specific about their relationship, but what we do know is that they are meant for each other. The 2 met, fell in love, and have been going strong ever since, and they even have 2 beautiful daughters. Both of them take their jobs as parents very seriously.

We at Bright Side admire mothers who raise their daughters to be strong and confident women. Today, we’re giving readers a glimpse of Eva Mendes’ parenting style, so keep scrolling to learn more,

The 2 love birds met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines.

Eva and Ryan first met in 2011 when they were filming the movie, The Place Beyond the Pines. They starred in the movie as a couple with a child.

We don’t have many details about how their relationship evolved. But we do know that they were friends before and that they used to hang out after filming. Soon, they started to spend lots of time together and were spotted getting cozy at Disneyland and sharing a romantic kiss in Paris.

They decided to keep their relationship private.

According to a source, there’s always been strong chemistry between them on set, and it was just a matter of time before the 2 hit it off! The lovely couple took their relationship to the next level when Eva flew to Toronto to attend the graduation of Ryan’s mom. It was obvious that the couple became official.

They welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda Amada, in 2014, and their second daughter, Amada Lee, in 2016. Even though Eva has an Instagram account, unlike her partner Ryan, she refuses to share anything about her little family. She shares pictures from her professional life but never about private things, and she made it clear when she said, “My man and my kids are private.”

Eva wanted to take a step back from acting to focus on her family.

This star hasn’t participated in any acting project since 2014, as she decided to take a step back from the business when she became a mom. She simply prioritized her family and raising her daughters above anything else.

She explained, “As a mother now, there are many roles I won’t do. There are many subject matters that I don’t want to be involved with, so it limits my choices and I’m fine with that. I have to set an example for my girls now.”

But it was not easy for her.

The Hollywood star once opened up about taking a break from acting to be a stay-at-home mom. She
expressed how tough it was for her, but she showed how strong she was when she chose that path and stood by it.

She said during an interview, “People are so sweet — they really try to warn you, prep you, when you’re pregnant, but nobody can prep you. Nobody. And nobody told me it was gonna really be a job. And a job that I needed an incredible amount of skill for, in different areas.” She continued to list the roles she takes on, saying, “A chauffeur, a cook, a personal assistant.”

There’s no such thing as gender roles in their house.

As a devoted mom, Eva has been doing her best to raise her daughters and set the best example for them. One thing she’s very vocal about is the fact that they don’t follow traditional gender roles at home. She talked about the fact that her partner is the main cook at home.

Also, they co-parent and do whatever it takes to both be present for their daughters. She added, “Hopefully, it’s showing my girls that there are no gender-specific roles that one must take on and that we are partners in this and that we’re all partners in this, not just Ryan and I, but our children as well.”

Eva called Ryan an “incredible cook” and said that “I think that there’s a really nice balance to ’you cook, I clean.’ And it just works for us”.

Which household chores do you like to do? Do you share the chores with your partner? We’d love to know about it in the comments.
