John Cena Plays a Glamorous Mermaid in the Barbie Movie, and His Look Is Leaving People Speechless

You won’t believe your eyes when you see John Cena’s transformation for the much-anticipated Barbie movie. The 46-year-old professional wrestler plays a blonde-haired mermaid, also known as “Kenmaid,” and his whole look has left everyone speechless.

We’ve never seen Cena like this before.

The wrestling champion discussed the film in a recently released behind-the-scenes video clip posted by Warner Bros. He was seen in his “Kenmaid” attire during the interview while wearing a blonde wig with luscious long locks.

Cena explained that he was “blown away by the concept,” noting that all audiences would enjoy the movie and could launch a “fiery debate.” He added, “I think it’s going to be beautifully visually appealing.”

Landing the role was as magical as the film itself.

A few months ago, Cena, who also stars in the movie Fast X, revealed how landing a role in the highly anticipated Barbie movie was a “happy accident,” adding that he “kind of” promoted himself for the role. He noted, “I think Barbie and Fast X share a lot of parallels. Their cast lists are amazing.”

The wrestler explained that during an accidental run-in with Margot Robbie, who plays the title role in Barbie, he said, “I will pretty much do whatever you guys need because I really enjoy the movie.” This is how they asked him if he wanted to be a “merman,” and John replied, “Yeah, sure.”

Barbie has a stellar ensemble cast that includes Ryan Gosling in the leading role of Ken. Singer Dua Lipa will also play a mermaid, and Dame Helen Mirren will be narrating the story.
