Runway models have perfect proportions — they are tall and also have endlessly long legs. It’s believed that clothes look more showy and advantageous on these body shapes. But is this always true?

We at Bright Side selected 20+ runway outfits that actresses and singers have worn too and offer you the chance to decide who those outfits look best on: models with ideal body shapes or celebrities with ordinary body shapes?

1. Christian Dior / Jennifer Lawrence

The actress is well aware of what fashion is all about (or it’s her stylist who knows). Changing the bra a bit and adding the belt made the dress look more glamorous.

2. Christian Dior / Jennifer Lawrence

The famous dress the actress was wearing when she got the “Oscar” and fell on the stairs looks kind of lackluster on the model. It’s also good that Jennifer decided to not put on that specific head piece.

3. Ralph & Russo / Penélope Cruz

Penélope Cruz is one of those celebrities who can’t be remembered for having any fashion fails in her past. This bold dress looks as good on the actress as it does on the model.

4. Thierry Mugler / Kim Kardashian

This socialite is known for her outstanding shape and that flirty neckline looks better on her than on the skinny model.

5. Jean Paul Gaultier / Kim Kardashian

This golden gown looks more erotic on Kim. Do you like how clothing looks on curvy women?

6. Marques Almeida / Rihanna

This singer is known for her love of bold fashion. Perhaps that’s why even the most awkward-at-first-sight outfits look stylish and organic on Rihanna. Would you wear this fur coat?

7. Christian Dior / Rihanna

The extravagant coat got a new and more attractive look on the singer.

8. Giambattista Valli / Rihanna

The famous Rihanna dress is hardly recognizable on the model. Who do you think it looks better on?

9. Ralph & Russo / Jennifer Lopez

The fabulous J.Lo has never been known for her model-like skinniness. And the example of this dress proves once again that outfits don’t always look better on models.

10. Gucci / Salma Hayek

This hot Mexican woman also doesn’t strive to have a skinny body shape and feels proud of her feminine curves. She chooses dresses in different styles and doesn’t feel shy about wearing outfits that were first shown on skinny models on the runway.

11. Zuhair Murad / Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy has strengthened body-positive tendencies in Hollywood and her efforts are not in vain — just look at how beautiful this snow-white dress looks on her.

12. Julien Macdonald / Krysten Ritter

Though the actress’s measurements are close to being those of a model, this dress, when combined with scarlet lipstick and classic shoes, still looks different on her.

13. Zuhair Murad / Nicole Kidman

Nicole is tall and has model-like measurements, moreover, her waist looks thinner than the model’s. Who does this nice dress look better on, in your opinion?

14. Marc Jacobs / Rita Ora

The singer likes bright and unpredictable outfits. Even these feathers give her a special chic look.

15. Zuhair Murad / Catherine Zeta-Jones

The actress has always been proud of her feminine figure. Even at 50, she still continues choosing open dresses that look better on her than on the original models.

16. Oscar de la Renta / Margot Robbie

This beautiful actress managed to turn an inconspicuous dress into a total hit.

17. Chanel / Margot Robbie

Margot also has a perfect taste when choosing daring and loud outfits.

18. Alexandre Vauthier / Lucy Liu

This interesting dress with a barrel-like skirt looks stylish on Lucy Liu. The length of the outfit became more moderate on the actress which added more charm to it.

19. Balmain / Katy Perry

The actress and singer likes unusual and even odd-looking outfits. But who would ever think that this ridiculous dress would look so good on the Red carpet?

20. Balmain / Beyoncé

Beyoncé is completely confident in her irresistibility and chooses the most creative and challenging outfits.

21. Balmain / Beyoncé

And although the singer’s figure is far from a model’s measurements, hardly anyone would dare to say that these dresses look worse on her.

What do you think? Who do these outfits look better on: models or celebrities? We would be glad to hear from you in the comments!

Striving to find a balance between her demanding career and new role as a mother, Rihanna admits that work can rob her of precious time with her child. Despite the challenges, motherhood has boosted her confidence, enabling her to tackle high-profile performances like the Super Bowl halftime show. The star notes that she has become more selective about her projects, ensuring that each commitment is “worth it.”

They all the SAME! The only ones that are slightly different ate because they have been altered. This was pointless.

Nothing will stay buried forever, apart from this comment.

I’m so sure that the person whom wrote this article is jealous of skinny girls... I mean, who, in 2019-2020, thinks that skinny girls look “bad” for not being that curvy? This article should be deleted. This article promotes skinny shaming!

your just as bad, you know that u need a degree in journalism and common sense. just because the writer is pointing out that the dresses look different on different people doesn't mean they are 'skinny shaming' i think you are jealous of famous people who buy 2000 + dollar dresses

This comment was too dangerous for society.

I disagree that this article promotes skinny shaming. Besides I think most people would agree with me that most of these dresses look much better on curvier women when compared to skinny women and the same time there are dresses that look way better on either types of women. And yes, fashion is also about the dress fitting the right body shape and sillohuette. So if these dresses fit curvy women more, that doesn't discredit the fact that skinny women are also attractive but don't try to pin up this article as skinny-shaming. That is just wrong and not fair.
