Oh, come on, critics :(
Life of the party was a good movie, I loved it. So easy and funny
10 Movie Stars That Are Famous for Both Outstanding and Terrible Acting

Actors, just like people of any other profession, have their ups and downs. So, if their biggest “up” is the Oscar award, then the worst possible event in their career is probably the Golden Raspberry. This plastic berry, painted with gold spray paint that costs $4.97 is given to actors one day before the Oscar ceremony. And there is probably not a single actor in the world who would like to receive it. But nobody is safe from getting the award for the worst acting, not even Oscar nominees and winners.
Bright Side has learned some information about 10 American actors who’ve managed to receive both awards in their careers.
Halle Berry
Halle Berry is still the only black actress in cinema history to have won the Oscar for Best Actress. She won her award in 2002 for the movie Monster’s Ball.
She won her anti-Oscar in 2005 when she played the main role in Catwoman. Berry attended the ceremony by herself and accepted the reward while personally holding her Oscar.
Melissa McCarthy
Last year, you could watch 3 movies with American actress Melissa McCarthy. The role in one of these movies (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) won an Oscar nomination for her (the second in her career).
And 2 of the other movies (Life of the Party and The Happytime Murders) were criticized in the media, and as a result, she got the Golden Raspberry for Worst Actress. Yes, you understood this correctly, she got 1 award for 2 movies. By the way, Melissa McCarthy also received The Razzie Redeemer Award. It’s not a career, it’s a rollercoaster.
John Travolta
John Travolta has had 2 Oscar nominations in his career (Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever). But he has way more Golden Raspberry nominations.
He has been nominated for the Golden Raspberry twice, for the worst actor of the decade. And he has had 8 total nominations for Worst Actor. The film that Travolta himself produced, Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000, won 7 awards in 2001.
Jennifer Lawrence
Young actress, Jennifer Lawrence, who has taken a break in her outstanding career, has 4 Oscar nominations and 1 win. In 2011, the Academy liked her work in Winter’s Bone, in 2014, it was American Hustle, and in 2016, she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Joy. But 2013 was the winning year for Lawrence when she won the Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook.
But she also has a nomination for Golden Raspberry: in 2018, the actress was one step away from winning the anti-Oscar for her role in Darren Aronofsky’s Mother!
Will Smith
Will Smith has been nominated for the Oscar twice. The movies The Pursuit of Happyness and Ali proved that Smith is great in both comedy and drama roles.
But Will Smith’s career has not been 100% successful. The actor has won the biggest anti-Oscar twice in his life: for the films After Earth and Wild Wild West. The former was really badly criticized, especially the acting skills of his son Jaden. In 2016, the actor also got the Razzie Redeemer Award for his role in Concussion.
Sharon Stone
Hollywood beauty, Sharon Stone, has had a weird relationship with the Golden Raspberry since 1988. The actress has had different nominations for it 8 times and she has won it 2 times. The last time it happened was in 2007. Critics hated her work in Basic Instinct 2.
But the actress has had better times in her career, for example, the 1996 Oscar nomination for her work in the Martin Scorsese film Casino.
Eddie Redmayne
30-year-old British actor got his Oscar for Best Actor during his first attempt. The movie The Theory of Everything was a hit in 2015 and Redmayne’s acting was mind-blowing.
One year later, he was nominated for an Oscar again for The Danish Girl but he couldn’t win the award because it was given to Leonardo DiCaprio. And the day before that, Redmayne was disappointed: he got the Golden Raspberry for Worst Supporting Actor in Jupiter Ascending.
Gwyneth Paltrow
The film Shakespeare in Love was a big event in the career of 46-year-old Gwyneth Paltrow. The actress received a lot of awards for the role of Viola de Lesseps, including the Oscar in 1999.
Since that time, Paltrow has done very different roles. For example, the film Mortdecai, which she was nominated for the Golden Raspberry award for in 2016. By the way, Carice van Houten was the first candidate for the role in this movie, but in the end, Paltrow got it.
Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck doesn’t have an Oscar for Best Actor and he has never been nominated in this category. However, he has 2 Oscar awards for Good Will Hunting (Best Original Screenplay) and Argo (Best Film).
But he has a lot of nominations for bad acting: the first one in 2002 Pearl Harbor, and the last one in 2017 Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. He also managed to win this award in 2004 for his role in Daredevil.
Sandra Bullock
In 2010, Sandra Bullock managed to win both of these awards in just one weekend. On Saturday, she won a Golden Raspberry for the romantic comedy All About Steve and on Sunday, she went on stage at the Dolby Theater to receive her Oscar for The Blind Side.
The actress has 2 Oscar nominations and 3 Golden Raspberry nominations. Bullock is one of the few actresses who is not ashamed of showing up for the Golden Raspberry ceremony in person. During the ceremony, she was giving away DVD copies of her movie and asking everyone to watch the film, with a little more attention, once again.
Have you seen these movies? Whose acting, do you think, didn’t deserve the Golden Raspberry?

I laughed too when I watched the movie. It wasn't the best movie I watched but also not the worst
