When we go out to eat at a restaurant, especially if it is a sophisticated place, we like to dress up, put on some perfume, and get ready to have a nice evening. However, in the blink of an eye, that beautiful moment can turn into a complete horror. Here are some uncomfortable and somewhat disgusting situations that our readers have experienced when dining out.

• I went to a restaurant and ordered a green salad. I was surprised to discover an insect wiggling its little antennae on one of the leaves. It was a snail without its shell.

• I used to work in a hotel, and sometimes I had to be the manager on duty. One of my responsibilities was to make sure that everything was in order in the hotel dining room. One night, a couple of diners complained that they had found traces of glass in a portion of peaches in syrup, which I thought was strange. I poured some and also found traces of glass. I ordered the dish to be removed and went to the kitchen to try to find out what had happened.
  I soon realized what the problem was: the person in charge of replenishing the peaches wanted to do it as quickly as possible, so he opened the cans of peaches and carelessly threw them into the serving bowl.
