Arnold Schwarzenegger Gets Emotional Talking About Split From Wife of 25 Years: “I’ll Live With It for the Rest of My Life”
An honest Arnold Schwarzenegger, 75, has looked back on his ’’tough’’ split from his ex, Maria Shriver, and the fact that he caused ’’pain’’ to his family. We admire the star’s courage for speaking so bravely about the ’’failures’’ in his life and admitting his mistakes.
Schwarzenegger speaks from the heart.
In the first trailer for his upcoming Netflix documentary titled Arnold, the icon is seen speaking with no barriers in what will be a 3-part series set for release on June 7.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver were married for 25 years before their relationship fell apart in 2011. The reason for the split was due to the revelation that the actor had a child named Joseph Baena, 25, with Mildred Baena, a member of their household staff.
Schwarzenegger appeared to refer to the cheating scandal as he spoke in a thoughtful manner, noting, ’’People will remember my successes, but they will also remember those failures.’’
The Hollywood legend admitted, ’’It was very tough on my marriage, on my relationship with my kids. I have caused enough pain for my family. I’m going to have to live with it for the rest of my life.’’
Shriver’s struggles made her stronger.
After their breakup, his ex-wife, Maria Shriver, struggled and had to seek the guidance of a nun as she tried to come to terms with the situation.
Shriver admitted that she needed to be in ’’silence’’ after the breakup. The 67-year-old noted, ’’I had never given myself permission to — to feel, to be vulnerable, to be weak, to be brought to my knees. And the world did it to me.’’ She also explained that Schwarzenegger’s massive fame made her feel ’’invisible’’ at times.
Following this tough divorce and being all by herself, Shriver learned to appreciate her own worth and developed empathy for others who might be going through similar situations as she did.
He turned his dream into reality.
The series also features exclusive vintage footage, including the star’s weightlifting sessions. In fact, Schwarzenegger rose to stardom as a Hollywood action hero after starting from humble beginnings in rural Austria.
Regarding his ambitions to succeed in Hollywood, he stated, ’’I saw myself on that stage. Thousands of people screaming, Arnold, Arnold, Arnold!’’ He added, ’’There were a lot of things I had to learn, obstacles I had to overcome.’’
Schwarzenegger and another Hollywood action legend, Sylvester Stallone, had a complicated relationship at the start but ended up being close buddies, and their story will leave no one indifferent.
