Billie Eilish Reveals How She Embraced Her Curves After Years of Being Criticized and Struggling to Accept How She Looked
Billie Eilish is opening up about her earlier years and the struggles she faced regarding her body image. The 21-year-old was totally honest about her journey of embracing her curves and developing body positivity. We think that Eilish is gorgeous and her natural beauty shines through more than ever before because she now radiates confidence and self-love.
The songstress admitted, ’’I felt like my body was gaslighting me for years.’’ She noted that as a teenager, she felt a lot of anger toward her body and the pain it caused her because of the hip injury that prevented her from pursuing a dance career.
And in order to cope with her feelings, Eilish explained that she chose to wear her signature baggy outfits, which she says were her ’’armor.’’
Her oversized T-shirts were also a way for her to cover her breasts, which she admitted were an issue for her. She once noted, ’’Someone with smaller boobs could wear a tank top, and I could put on that exact tank top and get shamed because my boobs are big.’’
She started to celebrate her figure.
Luckily, Eilish grew to realize how beautiful her body is, but the journey wasn’t an easy one.
The young woman shared that she “had to go through a process of being like, my body is actually me. And it’s not out to get me.”
And during the 2021 Met Gala, Eilish challenged herself and decided to wear a gorgeous and elegant nude tulle gown. The designer of the gown explained that she was inspired by Eilish’s decision to celebrate her body. She noted, ’’What was most inspiring to me from the creative side was to see this 19-year-old powerhouse look us in the eye and say, ‘I want to do something that scares me.’"
And this girly fashion wasn’t a new preference for Eilish. In fact, the star says that she’s always been drawn to a more feminine style. “Big dresses were my favorite thing when I was a kid,” she admitted. “I had so many dresses; I would wear a dress every single day.”
We’re glad that Eilish has been more open to flaunting the style she’s always loved, and she’s looking absolutely fabulous while doing so.
