Keanu Reeves Is Not Single Any More, and Here’s What We Figured Out About His New Girlfriend

Keanu Reeves put an end to the “Sad Keanu” meme and internet buzz by appearing with his girlfriend for the first time in more than 20 years! And this news brought such an enormous amount of joy to his fans, that we simply could not pass it by.

Here at Bright Side we love Keanu Reeves and we`re glad that he shed some light on his mysterious personal life, so we decided to find out a bit more about his girlfriend.

During the LACMA Art and Film Gala event organized by Gucci last weekend Keanu Reeves stepped out on the red carpet with a date — for the first time in over than 20 years! The couple appeared holding hands — which Keanu`s fans read as an officially confirmed relationship.

So the internet was completely shook, because Keanu hasn`t been seen with any woman on the red carpet since the late 90s — back then Keanu was dating actress Jennifer Syme. In 1999 they were expecting a baby, but, unfortunately, it was stillborn, and 2 years later, in 2001, Jennifer died in a car accident.

These tragic events happened when Keanu was a little over 30, and shocked the whole world. After that he plunged into work and kept silent about his private life for over 2 decades. Back then he also started working on his book Ode to Happiness, where he talked about how to start life anew after a big tragedy.

Alexandra Grant is an LA artist and a longtime friend of Keanu. They were also colleagues, since Grant was creating illustrations for Keanu`s books Ode to Happiness (2011) and Shadows (2015). So they were spotted in publiс a long time ago, but as colleagues.

Alexandra Grant, 46, is a highly accomplished artist, who creates her widely recognized works using text and language through painting, drawing, photography, filmography, and sculpture and “probes ideas of translation, identity, dis/location, and social responsibility” says the artist`s website.

Since Grant spent her childhood in Spain, Mexico, and France, she explores how our languages and images we see everyday shape our mindset.

Alexandra is also the founder of the grantLOVE project, that raises money for non-profit organizations like “Project Angel Food,” “Heart of Los Angeles” (HOLA), and “18th Street Arts Center.” In 2017, she also became a co-founder of the publishing house, X Artists’ Books.
