Kevin Bacon Moved to a Farm With His Wife After Losing “Millions,” and They’ve Never Been Happier

Farm life has called Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s names, and they were happy to comply. The famous couple saw their lives get flipped upside down due to a financial disaster, but they didn’t let it drag them down. Kevin and Kyra picked up what was left and reshaped their lives in the most inspiring way.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are still going strong nearly 35 years into their marriage.

The Footloose star and his beautiful wife have been one of Hollywood’s strongest units for as long as we can remember. Having tied the knot in September of 1988, they’ve been inseparable and they have only grown closer together.

In 2008, Sedgwick confirmed they are as close as anyone could be to being called the perfect couple: “We always knew that we were each other’s ’one.’ Both of us knew this was forever, and we were going to work it out no matter what happens, so when we fight, it’s not so scary.”

A little over a decade ago, their lives were turned upside down.

Unfortunately, even famous people face challenges in their lives, and for Kevin and Kyra, it happened in 2009. The couple found themselves in the middle of one of the most infamous Ponzi scheme scandals. They were one of many celebrities who invested in Bernie Madoff’s financial schemes, which led to them losing a lot of money.

Bacon has never officially shared the exact amount they were defrauded for, but reports say it’s up to 30 million dollars. After some time, Kevin commented on the situation, saying that while it was painful, it made him and Kyra focus on what’s important: “We’ve made it this far, our kids are healthy, we’re healthy, you know? Let’s look at what we have that’s good.”

They redesigned their lives and are now happier than ever.

The incident seems to have pushed Kevin and Kyra to reevaluate their lives. The famous couple decided to move away from Hollywood a while ago, and they settled on a cozy farm in Connecticut. They both regularly post updates about their farm life surrounded by their beloved livestock, and it looks nothing short of idyllic.

The couple’s favorite activity is singing, especially to their goats. In fact, Kyra posts so many videos of them singing to the goats that it’s become the main thing people recognize them for.

According to Sedgwick: “People were like, ’We love you singing with the goats.’ Kevin and I are like, ’Great, have you seen our movies or TV shows?’ But it makes people happy.”
