On Sunday, Princess Catherine was seen in a rare public outing to commemorate Remembrance Day. Clad in an elegant, solemn black ensemble fitting for the occasion, the Princess of Wales appeared particularly moved this year, with onlookers drawing attention to a specific detail.

Overlooking the Whitehall ceremony from a balcony at the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office in central London, the 42-year-old royal stood beside Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Clearly emotional, she briefly shut her eyes in thought and lowered her head in a respectful tribute.
