Married for 22 Years, Christian Bale Was Giving Up On Love Until He Was Introduced to Winona Ryder’s Assistant

In Hollywood, having a long-lasting relationship can be a struggle. But Christian Bale and his wife, Sibi Blažić, have been able to last a little over 2 decades together. Although Bale is one of the most low-key Hollywood stars out there and keeps his personal life very private, he has shared some things that let us see why their relationship is as solid as a rock.

Christian Bale started his acting career at a very young age.

The famous actor started working with little parts in commercials until he got his first opportunity to be part of a TV series called Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna. After that, he got to work in the movie, Newsies, as the lead character, and later, alongside the beautiful Winona Ryder in Little Women. This last event would have an impact on him later in life.

He dated a renowned actress, but it didn’t work out.

Bale hasn’t shared much about his dating life, but he surprisingly dated the stunning Drew Barrymore. However, they ended up not pursuing a relationship. When Barrymore was asked about it in an interview, she said, “I don’t know, he was so nice. I had big problems in my life [...] boys were very secondary.”

Sibi Blažić was working in the entertainment industry when they met.

The couple has managed to keep their life away from public scrutiny. Bale said in an interview, “My wife likes to be very private and, of course, I want to maintain that. But we have a great private life.” Even so, sometimes the actor likes to share little things about his family.

His wife changed his views on marriage.

In an interview, the actor gushed about his wife as he got emotional, saying, “She’s probably the strongest woman I’ve ever come across in my life.” According to the actor, he didn’t think he was going to get married. “I never planned to marry. Everyone was divorced in my family so I didn’t have very healthy ideas about marriage.” But someone came and changed his entire plan, as he admitted, “Then I met Sibi and suddenly it seemed a fantastic idea.”

In a different interview, Bale talked about not being ready to get married. “I’m not gonna sit here saying, ‘Oh no, I’m not ready,’ and regret not having done this later on and the possibility of not having this person around.” So he went for it and hoped for the best. “She’s such a good strong woman. I owe everything to her.”

The Dark Knight actor also shared how his wife participated in the movie, The Dark Knight Rises. “My wife was a stunt driver, she was chasing me through the city in Batman.” Bale also jokingly said that his wife terrifies him, explaining, “She was driving one of the cop cars. She can do 180s and stunts and all that. My wife terrifies me.”

Now Bale gets to be the dad he never though he would be.

Christian Bale and Sibi Blažić have been together for 22 years and they share 2 children together. The actor has talked about how his dad’s status has made him more emotional. “I find myself tearing up at the most ridiculous things now, sitting next to my daughter while she’s watching a movie,” said Bale.

During a heated interview, when he was asked about his family, the actor responded, “I’ve got incredible pride for my family. I’ve absolutely fallen into that cliché of a dad who could just happily talk about my daughter endlessly.” And all we can say is that Christian Bale has definitely found joy in parenthood.
