would Olive oil work too?
Why Japanese People Wash Their Faces for 10 Minutes
Achieving healthy, clean skin takes time, and Japanese people created their own ritual of how to look flawless and get rid of skin problems. The technique takes 10 minutes and has 3 key steps that can make your face shine.
We at Bright Side keep trying new things to stay young and would love to share with you some secrets that the Japanese use.
Many Asian people have a 4-2-4 method of cleansing the face.
The 4-2-4 method is a special system divided into stages by time.
- You start with oil for 4 minutes.
- Only after that can you use a cream cleanser for 2 minutes.
- And the last step is rinsing for 4 minutes.
A specialist says that if you use this cleansing method, you don’t need to wash your face in the morning, just at night. Plus, you don’t have to do it every day. 4 times a week is enough.
First 4 minutes: the oil phase
The oil phase has the aim of improving circulation by massaging the skin for 4 minutes. You also soften that top layer and help to loosen any clogged pores. It’s crucial to pick the right oil that can sit on the top of your face.
For example, jojoba oil will be absorbed into your skin. It’s better to use castor oil, which helps to move stagnation and draw toxins out. Be careful with massaging your skin if you have any traumas or contraindications.
Second 2 minutes: the cream cleanse phase
After massaging your face, apply some cleanser on the top of the oil. Specialists say that they prefer cream cleansers instead of foam or gel kinds because they don’t dry out the skin as much. Clean your face for 2 minutes with gentle movements as not to harm your face.
Third 4 minutes: the rinse phase
Start with warm water for 2 minutes, then finish with cold water for another 2 minutes. The warm water can help to rinse the excess oil from your skin and increase blood flow to the surface.
The cold water can help to tighten the pores. This technique helps to hydrate the skin so that after the procedure, your face will look shiny.
What’s your technique for cleansing your face? What tips do you have that help you to make your skin look flawless?
