Hurry Up and Buy: These 8 Smart Products Are All on Sale

year ago

We’re used to using smart devices every day, but what would you say about the fact that they can also use us as an energy resource? A curious study has introduced nanogenerators that can capture energy from human movement. Sounds like a dream come true.

And while scientists are learning more about this technology, we’re just in time with a list of discounted gadgets that can really come in handy in your daily life.

1. This doorbell 1080p HD video camera with full control from your phone via a special app can make your life more comfortable.

Instant notifications, live viewing, and 2-way talking are all available for free on any Ring device. And the high-definition night vision features sharp contrast, so you never miss a detail. It also works with Alexa.

Promising review:

If you do some research, as I did, many YouTube videos compare Ring doorbells, and the Ring Wired comes out as the best and most economical version. I did NOT have an existing bell, so I had to buy an adapter from Amazon as well, so I could plug the bell into the main socket. The main socket does not need to be near the bell; mine is about 6 meters away, and the adapter cable is so thin, you can’t notice it. It’s not like having an extension cord running around your house! You also don’t need to buy or already have an existing chime. It connects to your phone, so if you can hear your phone, you can hear the doorbell. It also connects to Alexa if you really want to hear the bell ring indoors. You also get PRE ROLL, which is not in the blurb, but you get 3 seconds before the action starts. VERY useful and only advertised on ring Pro versions.

It uses a “fisheye” lens, so the field of view is much larger than needed; I can see over the roof of the house opposite as well as the ground by my front door. It’s wide enough to cover the neighbor’s driveway on either side as well. The video quality is excellent; it’s 1080p, which is HD, so it’s going to be. The motion sensor works flawlessly, night vision is also very good. The 2-way communication works very well; no complaints there either.

Installed in about 10–15 minutes (and I’m not a DIY person)! Just 2 screws in the wall.
In fact, I have no complaints at all, why would anyone spend around 200 bucks on a doorbell when this does almost as much for 50? After all, it’s just a doorbell! If anyone told you 10 years ago, one day you would spend 50 bucks on a doorbell, you would have laughed at how ridiculous that sounded. And yet here you are.

2. A smart display with Alexa and a 2 MP camera will help you manage a lot of activities at home.

This device is a perfect fit for your bedside table. Echo Show 5 lets you easily control your smart home with your voice or through the interactive display. Also, you can make video calls to your friends and family. For this, they also need to have an Echo Show or the Alexa app.

Promising review:

I’d fancied trying an Echo for a while, but couldn’t justify it. I finally bought one when, A, They were for sale, and B, when I realized they worked with the Ring doorbell (I was having problems with the chimes). I do love it.

I use it predominantly for music, radio, the doorbell, and to ask Alexa the odd question. The sound is good, the picture is clear, and it was easy to set up. With time, I am sure I will use it more and might even get a second at some point. — miss g hawkins

3. This Bluetooth speaker with a colorful light show and a very stable connection will allow you to enjoy music anywhere.

The gadget is easy to carry and is waterproof, which makes it extremely handy both away and at home. It also supports FM radio. You can even purchase 2 speakers at once and enjoy the surround sound by using the dual pairing function.

Promising review:

This is a really nice little speaker! I’ve just spent the last few hours playing around with it, and it ticks all the boxes of what I’m looking for in this kind of product. It was up and running in seconds. You just turn it on, go into your Bluetooth settings, select “Pair new device,” then click on “K8”, and it pairs immediately. After that, it’s super easy to use.

The V+ and V- buttons are for volume up and down, and if you long press those buttons, they change to the next or previous song. The M button switches between Bluetooth, radio, and clock settings. To change the time, you press M until it says “clock mode,” then long press M until the hour starts flashing. Change the time using the V+/V- buttons. Once the hour is set, press M once straight after, and it will switch to the minutes flashing. You pull the little rubber tab on the side out to find the charging port, and then replace it once done to make it watertight.

Finally, and most importantly, the sound is nice and clear and loud enough for my needs! Everything seems high quality, right from the packaging down to the actual speaker. The one thing that I will mention is that the buttons are slightly stiff; however, once you’ve used it for a while and know to give the middle of the button a firm press, this isn’t an issue, at least for me. So overall, I’m really happy with this cool little speaker! — Luke

4. A running watch with advanced features will help you get your training on track!

This watch can help you evaluate your pace, whether you are undertraining or overdoing it, you will know. The device has tracking features that make it easy to share your location with chosen contacts. Plus, it comes in a variety of delicious colors — simply pick your favorite!

Promising review:

As a previous Garmin owner, I wanted to stick with the brand, as I loved my previous forerunner. I’m a casual runner, by no means competitive. I usually run between 5 and 10 kilometers (3 and 6 miles) a few times a week, so I’m not one for all the bells and whistles the more expensive watches have. This fits the bill perfectly for me, and I’ve noticed a lot more features than my older forerunner had, such as stress monitoring, respiratory support, body battery, etc., which are pretty neat. I already had the connect app, so adding the devices was seamless and easy to pick up where I left off.

One of the main reasons I opted for this was the capability of playing music. I used to run with earphones and my phone, which I hated, so using this watch with wireless earphones almost felt liberating. The only criticism I have is that the strap tends to be a bit uncomfortable, but that’s not much of an issue, and it doesn’t impact my running in any shape or form. Overall, it’s a great watch and fits my needs perfectly. — Mathew

5. This projector for home and outdoor use is portable but powerful.

A 100-inch (254 centimeters) huge projector screen is included. This home theater projector is equipped with a DOLBY AUDIO stereo speaker inside and supports a 45 to 300-inch (114.3 to 762 centimeters) projection display size from a 4.3-ft to 28-ft projection distance.

Promising review:

We bought this projector as a replacement for my old DLP mini projector, which stopped working due to software issues and for which we couldn’t get any customer support at all. It does what it says in the description; it’s very easy to set up and works well with USB, my iPhone via data cable, or Wi-Fi screen mirroring.

It is best to play 4K videos on it, as you would really see how crisp and vivid the picture or video quality is. You can also connect external speakers via Bluetooth; what else would you need? Very happy with my purchase; low price for its quality. If you don’t want to spend thousands on a short-throw projector, then it would do just as well. A+++ — Arva-Toth Viktor

6. This helpful gadget is very easy to set up, so you can start using this little speaker right away.

Begin your day and get a rundown of the news, current weather, and forecast while making coffee. Your favorite content is at your fingertips too — you can play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and TuneIn. And Alexa is always ready to help you with different tasks.

Promising review:

I purchased my first Echo Dot 3 weeks ago and set it up as soon as I got it. The setup process is very simple; you just need to download the Alexa app, connect to your Dot via Bluetooth, and set your WI-Fi network ID and password, and there you have it in less than 3 minutes. Then the only thing left to do is link up your Amazon account, and you’re good to go. The first thing I noticed once I took it out of the box was how sturdy it was. It feels heavy in your hand, and all materials used are of very high quality.

Everything is very well-thought-out and placed exactly where it should be. The LED ring on the top of the device serves as a very efficient way to provide feedback to the user — you know when Alexa is active and listening, when it’s processing your question, or when you have a notification. I was surprised by the sound quality provided by this relatively small speaker. Even when set at maximum volume, the sound quality is still excellent. Apart from that, the mic is something that makes the Echo Dot stand out. It has 360-degree coverage and can hear you from quite a distance.

There are a lot of Alexa skills available to download, and most of them are free. However, I found out that quite a lot of skills require some in-app purchases. I downloaded a couple of Echo Dot-compatible skills that didn’t work at all. This led me to believe that the quality control on applications might not be stringent. Some skills were not intuitive and did not work as the user would expect. Of course, this is not Amazon’s fault, since they haven’t built and published these skills. However, having better control over what skills go out there might be useful in the future.

In conclusion, I can say I am more than happy with my Alexa Echo Dot 3 and highly recommend it. — R

7. A bike computer with a simplified design will give you training guidance and help monitor your performance.

It comes with a 1.8-inch (4.6 centimeters) display that’s easy to read in sunlight or low-light conditions. With this gadget, you can check your heart rate and manage your efforts. A heart rate monitor strap is also included.

Promising review:

A great little device. It’s small and compact, but had all the features I needed. Intuitive to use. The display can be easily customized to show the data I need at a glance. It syncs well with the heart rate monitor and the Garmin Connect app. Battery life is decent. The mapping feature is quite basic, but not a feature I was particularly concerned about. If mapping and route finding is important to you, you should probably consider one of the higher-end Garmin devices.

*UPDATE 27/04/22. Used the navigation feature with a preloaded course when cycling in a new area today. Although the map is basic, the navigation feature worked surprisingly well, and the route was quite easy to follow. They also gave useful data on the climbs, which was a big help on unfamiliar roads. — g

8. This hit product will work its magic on the curtains for you so you can concentrate on more important things.

This smart device is a must-have for anyone who values their time. You don’t need to get up and open or close your curtains — you can just peacefully doze off. You can control the gadget remotely, and it works nicely at a big range. Let yourself be a bit lazy as you enjoy this product.

Promising review:

Didn’t have much trouble setting up my 2 switch bots, but it would have been nice to see a video of the process first. With all these devices, it’s nice to see where and how you are going with it prior to doing it yourself. That said, it was quite easy.

Could not find anything about LED indication for battery charging, just a charge time. On mine, I found the blue LED came on, which I assume is an indication. Once programmed, the battery status is shown on the app anyway. I have center-drawn curtains, and my 2 units have been working flawlessly over the last 2 weeks. Great product and swift delivery via Amazon. — Android
