7 Celebrities Who Totally Regret Their Tattoos
We all know that when it comes to getting a tattoo, it’s pretty easy to make a bad decision. Plenty of celebrities have fallen into this trap as well. Some have tattooed the name of their significant other on themselves, while others have gotten silly things that were considered cool at the time. Sadly, we have to live with the consequences of our decisions for a long time, especially with tattoos.
Here at Bright Side, we made a selection of 7 celebrities who regretted their tattoos once they got older.
1. Angelina Jolie
Back in the early 2000s when Angelina Jolie and her former husband, Billy Bob Thornton, used to be together, she dedicated a tattoo to him as a sign of her love. The tattoo on the actress’s left shoulder depicted an Asian-style dragon with the name “Billy Bob” tattooed above it. However, after the marriage of the couple went south in 2003, Jolie had the tattoo removed and later covered with the coordinates of her children’s birthplaces.
2. Ryan Reynolds
Many people might not know this, but Reynolds only has a couple of tattoos, which are more than enough for him. In an interview, he said, “I hate them all.” He also explained, “I’d get them all lasered off if it wasn’t hours and hours of brutal pain. But my wife says I should keep them to keep a record of the choices I’ve made.”
3. Adam Levine
Adam Levine’s upper body is basically covered in tattoos. In an interview with Anderson Cooper, when he was asked if he regretted any of his tattoos, Levine admitted that he likes most of them, and he would never cover any of them up. But there is one on his right shoulder that he tried to correct by surrounding it with something. Eventually, the tattoo ended up looking like cauliflower with the sun in the middle of it.
4. Heidi Klum
America’s Got Talent judge, Heidi Klum, got her tattoo as a celebration of their fourth wedding anniversary with her former husband, Seal, a decision that she later regretted. After their divorce, Klum finalized the end of their marriage by removing her ex-husband’s name from her right inner arm.
5. Pamela Anderson
In 1995, former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson got a string of barbed wire tattooed on her upper arm when she got the leading role in the movie, Barb Wire. Instead of painting the barbed wire on her hand every day, she decided to get it tattooed on her. 19 years later, Anderson decided to remove the body art. She said the tattoo has become an “eyesore” as she got older.
6. Melanie Griffith
Well-known celebrity couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas were married for 19 years. Griffith announced their divorce in the summer of 2014. Almost a year after their split, the mark of their love was not visible anymore. The actress first used makeup to hide Banderas’ name, but later on, the body art was removed with a laser treatment.
7. Justin Bieber
The highly decorated pop singer, Justin Bieber, gave a tour of his tattoos in an interview with GQ. He showed one on his left wrist, which was an illustration of his ex-girlfriend. After the breakup with Selena Gomez, he tried blurring the face of the woman on his hand, but people still know that the tattoo is associated with his ex.
