I have and I've used it in the past!!! And my boyfriend has an app on his iphone imitating gun sounds. There was a time someone came at my door at 2 am knocking actually pretty hard!! Fortunately my boyfriend had slept with me that day and he went closer to the door and did the trick with the gun sound, the man (who we saw running on the street) left in SECONDS :d

I don't really agree with most of the solutions here. The thing is, most of them can further provoke the harasser.
For example, if a girl keeps looking back, the harasser might even like it and get agitated.

I can agree here. Sadly, there is no right solution to such situations. Probably staying calm and trying to talk them out

to my knowledge, there can be another rather unusual yet effective solution. You can try to act very aggressively and give the harasser an impression that you're "crazy". He/she might think that you will cause too much trouble for him and he might decide not to deal with you

actually this might be a good idea. If you also make too much noise he can get scared. Or just not expect that you can be that aggressive (while he thought you would get scared), and while he is confused you can take this time to escape.

But in Singapore there is a peek hole at the door so some steps to me is not really needed, but hey good info.
