A Malaysian Princess Celebrates Her Birthday by Cleaning the Beach, and Her Example Is Worth Following

Birthdays mean different things to different people. Some may prefer to be the center of attention, while others want to share their attention with the world. We want to tell you about a Malaysian princess that did a small thing on her birthday that inspired the whole country and maybe even the whole world to do the same.

Meet Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz, Princess of Kedah, Malaysia. On July 22, 2018, she turned 52.

On the 24th of July, her official Instagram account showed photos of the princess in casual clothes collecting plastic rubbish and putting it into black trash bags.

The princess spent the whole day cleaning one of the Langkawi beaches with her team. The results were impressive.

The caption to those photos says, “Say no to plastic. Another birthday wish fulfilled. ” The princess received a lot of praise for her actions and it motivated others to do the same. Her post got more than 2,000 likes and more than 100 comments.

The princess hopes that all residents of Langkawi, as well as residents of Malaysia as a whole, will start feeling motivated to reduce pollution and the amount of waste in the world.

This proves that being a princess doesn’t always entail sitting in a palace while wearing an elegant dress. There is nothing that can stop you from helping the world if you really want to.
