Tallulah Willis, the youngest daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, shared her thoughts on body image and self-acceptance. In a post on her Instagram account, the actress and artist opened up about her struggles with body dysmorphia and her resentment toward looking like her famous father. Willis’s candid comments have sparked a much-needed conversation about the pressure to conform to beauty standards.

She is the third daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

Demi Moore is a well-known American actress and producer who has starred in many popular films throughout her career, like Ghost, A Few Good Men, and G.I. Jane. In 1987, Moore married actor Bruce Willis and together, they had 3 daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.

The couple was considered one of Hollywood’s power couples in the 1990s, and they were frequently seen on the red carpet together. Despite their high-profile divorce in 2000, Moore and Willis have maintained a close relationship and have continued to co-parent their 3 daughters successfully.

Despite growing up in the spotlight Tallulah, the youngest, has spoken candidly about the immense pressure she has felt to conform to societal beauty standards and how it has impacted her mental health.

Her struggle with body image came from looking like her dad and not her mom.

In 2021, Tallulah Willis took to Instagram to share her struggles with body image. In her post, she said, “I punished myself for not looking like my mom, after being told I was Bruce Willis twin since birth. I resented the resemblance as I believed wholly my ’masculine’ face was the sole reason for my unlovability.”

According to Willis, her insecurities came from the relentless scrutiny and criticism she faced from the media at a young age when people would call her Bruce and Demi’s ugly daughter at 13 years old.

Tallulah helps others find a way into self-acceptance.

Tallulah knows that it’s not easy to achieve self-love, so she has used her platform to spread awareness about mental health issues and encourage people to embrace their imperfections. The artist posted on her social media, “What our mirror shows does not dictate how much love we deserve. We are more than the reflection.”

In another Instagram post, Willis shared what she does to try to stop critiquing herself. Willis said, “towel over the mirror/ taking mirrors down/ implementing self-boundaries that I only can look in the mirror when brushing my teeth and washing my face. Breaks from social media, reading fantasy fiction books. Find a safe person, circle, or community with who you can vocalize the triggering moment/current obsession/spiral. Go for a walk and listen to music, take a bath and smear body oil/ lotion all over your tender skin, write, breathe.”
