1. Best of the best: a go-to option for those who spend a lot of time in their chairs
4.5 stars out of 5
74% of positive reviews
Adjustability & support
This gaming chair is specially designed for game players who work or gaming long hours in the office or home:
- The high back, comfy headrest, and the shape of this office chair ensures proper alignment and gives your spine and neck good support.
- It has a slight lean but doesn’t actually tilt back.
- The armrests can’t be adjusted, they’re fixed.
Ease of assembly
In general, customers leave positive feedback:
- A pain to assemble single-handed but technically easy.
- It was really easy to set up.
- This chair is very easy to assemble — just look at the provided clear diagrams and instructions as you assemble it. All the bolt holes are lined up nicely, and everything you need is included. I opted to use my socket set to assemble instead of the Allen key (to make sure it’s all nice and tight), but the provided Allen key would be fine.
- Easy and quick to assemble.
Other features
Capacity: 120 kg (265 lbs)
360° swivel
The special hole on the backrest can effectively prevent the accumulation of body moisture.
Cons to consider
There are several things reviewers pay attention to:
First, the chair may make a loud creaking noise whenever you move around on it.
Second, the armrest cushions get flat in the middle.
Finally, the angle of the back goes back too far. It may get annoying as it’s impossible to relax your legs as you are sliding down all the time.

2. Runner-up: this chair design is close to the racing bucket seat so you can spend long hours in front of your computer.
4.5 stars out of 5
71% of positive reviews
Adjustability & support
The chair doesn’t have adjustable armrests but:
- The fixed armrests are equipped with soft and durable foam pads that protect your forearms and relieve fatigue during long working hours. The height from the seat to the armrest of one side is 25 cm, which is scientific for the sitting position.
- It has a thickened head rest for additional comfort.
- It has an ergonomic design that provides additional support for your neck, lumbar, and hips.
- There is a rocking function to help you shake your stress away but you won’t be able to lock the chair in that position.
Ease of assembly
The seller claims that the chair is very easy to assemble: it comes with an installation guide. Even if you are not good at assembly, you can easily complete the assembly of the chair, according to the guide.
- Basically, it was easy to assemble until I tried to use the lever to raise the chair, at which point, rather than the chair rising, a metal rod came out of the bottom of the gas lift cylinder and hit the floor. I was totally baffled by this for a while until I watched a few YouTube videos on chair gas lift repairs. Having had my knowledge of chair gas lifts raised from zero, I took the one provided apart and found that the bearing/washer was not threaded on the central rod but was in a vertical position off to one side. I reassembled the gas lift and all was good. So instead of it taking 30 minutes to assemble, it’s been a whole afternoon.
- It was easy to assemble. The instructions are basic but clear, and all skill levels should be OK to set this up.
- It was somewhat easy to assemble. The two things I will say are:
1. Have another person (or something to lean the chair on) when you go to attach the back support part to the bottom of the chair, as putting in the screws could become a pain.
2. The screws don’t line up when it comes to the armrests straight away, so you may have to pull on them a little bit. Having another person is helpful, but again, I could do without. - It was easy for me to assemble alone, with all the necessary items included.
Other features
Capacity: 150 kg
360° swivel
Breathable fabric
Premium leather allows to clean the chair with no effort.
It’s equipped with high-destiny foam padding that is comfortable and not easy to deform.
Cons to consider
The chair may not be suitable for tall people. Some reviewers mention that the neck support lands somewhere between their shoulders which makes it quite uncomfortable.

3. Feature-packed: if you’re on the hunt for a good, supportive chair, this could be your trophy.
4.4 stars out of 5
67% of positive reviews
Adjustability & support
This chair has multiple adjustments that help you get your comfort zone dialed in:
- The armrest can be adjusted up and down to reduce the load on your spine and avoid muscle aches in the shoulders.
- The backrest has a
110-116-126° tilt angle. The maximum angle allows you to lie down and have a break. - 45° adjustable ergonomic headrest to comfortably lean on, preventing your body from falling forward.
- The two-way adjustable lumbar pillow will protect you from lumbar strain.
Ease of assembly
The seller provides instructions to enable anyone to put a chair together in eight simple steps.
Here is what customers have to say about it:
- I did it by myself and it took about half an hour, mostly because of the unpacking of all the pieces.
- It’s quite easy to build, even though lifting it for the final assembly has been quite hard because the top is very heavy.
- It was extremely easy to assemble, done by myself.
- Easy to follow instructions. It only took me 30 minutes to put it together. I suggest attaching the back onto the bottom bracket before installing it to the seat unless you have a second person around to help. You also might want to check the shims before you start construction. There are only a few that fit the large screws (I had to take 3 screws back out just to get the right shims).
Other features
Capacity: 150 kg
360° swivel
Breathable mesh
Cons to consider
- Some reviewers claim that the chair doesn’t really fit taller people. For them, back support is lacking, and their shoulders rub against the plastic frame.
- Lumbar support may stick out too much, the ’minimum’ set still digs at your lower back and causes pain.
- The headrest and armrests are loose and there is nothing you can do to fix that.

4. Best for those who don’t like leather: velvet close is lovely to touch.
4.2 stars out of 5
61% of positive reviews
Adjustability & support
This chair won’t allow you to move the armrests as they’re screwed to the frame. There are no head and lumbar pillows but you can still adjust the seat back independently and lock it in the tilted position.
Ease of assembly
The seller claims that the chair is easy to assemble and you won’t need any additional tools to get it together. Let’s check this out with real reviews:
- The instructions are very poor (they do not include some steps at all, and parts are not easily identifiable).
- The assembly instructions could have been clearer (see picture), but it was fairly easy. A second pair of hands would have been useful, but I actually used the chair it was replacing to support it when needed. The most confusing bit is that you have to bolt the back and the seat together as the second step, using the armrests. Then lean the back forward (beyond upright) to allow you to slot the locking bolt (and split pin) through the piston. When you put the arms on, you need to make sure the “silver” lugs on the chair are fully recessed into the holes in the arms, otherwise the bolts won’t fully tighten. This is actually quite tricky as the bolts are not perfectly aligned, but they go in with a thump of the palm.
- My biggest anxiety when buying a new office chair is not how comfy it is or how the tilt works — it’s how much of a pain it will be to try to assemble it. I’ve had lots of experiences with chairs with missing or ill-formed parts, bits that don’t work, and especially holes that don’t line up, so you have to either drill your own or exert huge force to make things line up. But I was so pleased with how easy this chair was to assemble that I logged straight into Amazon to let others know. It took me around 30 minutes to work alone. If I’d appreciated a third hand to hold something upright, I just rested the chair against the box it came on. The instructions, although entirely pictorial, were clearly illustrated and simple to follow. All the parts were present and correct, and easy to identify, with no possibility of mixing up screw types. The part labelled “L” was already attached to the chair. The holes in the chair parts lined up perfectly with the holes in the arms (that’s a first for me) and the solid screws went smoothly into place. I attached both arms to the base before attaching the back. And just to clarify on a couple of assembly things that could be overlooked: you might wonder which way round to attach the large metal plate to the seat underside — well, see the photo which shows “Front” on both components. I noticed the engraved word after I’d attached the plate, but I’d gotten it right anyway by looking carefully at the picture. And when you finally attach the base to the back using the bolt “M”, make sure you align the hole in a way that allows you to insert the cotter pin without the chair back getting in the way. I didn’t, but it only took a minute or so to wiggle the bolt out again and put it back in more favorably aligned.
- ASSEMBLY: No issues at all — it’s common sense. The only tool — a hex key — is supplied. One teeny issue: I was initially trying to align one of the armrest screw holes; the armrest has 2 screws through the seat base and one in the backrest (’cos it needs to pivot on that one). The screw ’receivers’ on the backrest and base are raised round collars so the armrest actually fits neatly over them and locates there before the hex screws are bolted down. I found one side tricky to align at first — when I got the armrest over one collar, the other one was fractionally not lined up and wouldn’t fit over. After a few attempts, I tried it the opposite way around; I positioned the other one first — blimey, and the second one now went on OK.

Cons to consider
Looks like the complete lack of lumbar support is probably its worst fault. Also, some reviewers note that it gets squeaky after some usage.

5. Customized support: adjustable lumbar and head pillows will help you find the most comfortable position.
4.2 stars out of 5
61% of 5-star reviews
Adjustability & support
This specially designed chair is inspired by racing car seats. It is modern looking and will fit into any office or home decor with ease:
- The ergonomic design of the seat makes you feel pleasure and relaxation at any time.
- 135° reclining back mechanism will make your work or gaming sessions even more efficient.
- Made with comfortable and soft material, the armrests can be adjusted from the lowest to 9 cm, making you find the perfect height to feel comfortable and relieve any arm pain.
- The backrest has a tilt feature with firmness adjustment and a slightly grander shape, which fits bigger persons.
- The detachable head pillow is filled with a high-density sponge and will protect your neck while you’re working.
- The lumber pillow will relieve your stress from sitting for a long time.
Ease of assembly
Check out what the customers have to say about this chair:
- Assembling was very easy, as there really isn’t that much to this chair.
- My first biggest issue is that one of the holes to attach the plastic which covers the frame was way, way too small. I eventually had to use a tool to widen the hole and then force the screw in.
- The step-by-step is pretty good, although the seller/manufacturer may want to consider the quality of the text on the page, especially the smaller text that was crowded into a smaller space. Some of the photos in the instructions could do with better contrast, especially when you are trying to see how to attach dark-colored items to other dark-colored items.
- The assemblage was fairly quick and easy. I used my own alum key with a longer handle rather than the supplied combi tool.
The instructions are clear and well thought out. I used my old chair as a base to work on when fitting the arms to the seat pad. It gave me a clear drop to hang them over while I positioned them and tightened the bolts. That was the most fiddly part. After that, it was plain sailing. There were no missing components. In fact, they supplied one spare of each screw, bolt, and screw cap.

Capacity: 150 kg
360° swivel
Breathable fabric
Cons to consider
The chair may randomly drop down to its lowest height. Another problem multiply buyers say about is armrests that start to wobble when extended. Also, the chair creaks and rocks too loudly which may become annoying with time.

6. Most versatile: adapts ideally to any room
4.2 stars out of 5
56% of positive reviews
Adjustability & support
This home office chair may help you reduce fatigue and keep you productive all day thanks to the following features:
- The armrest can be lifted up to 90° and moved under the desk to save space.
- 105° rocking function makes this chair an ideal option to help you relax after a long time of work
- Ergonomic design perfectly lines up with a human body while the lumbar system support resembles a pair of hands, pushing up and supporting your back.
- Thick padded back & seat take this chair to the next level of comfort.
Ease of assembly
The chair comes with printed and illustrated instructions as well as all the tools you need for assembly.
- It’s fairly easy to build, but there were a few times that I struggled. The legs that attach to the base take a bit of fiddling with and don’t be afraid to put all your weight on them. I had to put some of the foam on top of them and then kneel on them to get them to click into place. Similarly, you’ll have to do some maneuvering when you attach the arms to the seat, but they should go on fine — just don’t screw the bottoms of the arms on too tight when you attach them to the base so that you’ve got a bit more flexibility when you’re trying to attach them to the back of the chair.
- It was a bit tricky to assemble as you need to make sure you keep all the screws very loose until all are in place, then tighten!
- The base was difficult to put together (I initially thought I’d received a faulty unit).
- It was very difficult to assemble by myself, so I had to get help assembling it.

Capacity: 150 kg
360° swivel

Less pressure seat — specially designed waterfall front seat edge ensures minimum pressure on your legs during a long time sitting hours on the desk chair.
Cons to consider
Turns out, that the assembly issue is the only negative side most of the users mention.

7. Most budget chair: a simple yet solid option without any bells or whistles.
4.1 stars out of 5
54% of positive reviews
Adjustability & support
This chair doesn’t have lumbar and head pillows but there are still some features you may be looking for:
- The armrest can be lifted up to 90° which makes it a perfect space-saving option — just flip the armrests up and put the chair under the desk. It can be adapted to a variety of tables of different sizes.
- The backrest has a 120° tilt angle that allows you to shake some tiredness away after hours of work. Note that you can’t lock the chair in the tilted position.
Ease of assembly
It takes 6 steps to put this chair together. Let’s see how buyers managed to cope with it:
- I’m rubbish at assembling anything unless it’s Lego, but I managed to put this together in around 20 minutes, so you’ll get a good-looking chair and a pretty decent ego boost as a result of it.
- It was really easy to assemble. The manual came in different languages which helped with the construction.
- It’s self-assembly and was a little fiddly. The screws you need (and an Allen key) are all supplied and mounted on a card. At one point, the instructions required a certain screw to be used, but these screws were found in a pocket on the card along with some others and they looked identical, so a bit of guesswork was required. It was also a bit fiddly to attach the arms on my own, but manageable. All in all, it took about 10-15 minutes to build the chair.
- The instructions are very easy to follow and they even when the extra mile and added a cotton glove to use.
Other features
Capacity: 136 kg
360° swivel
Breathable mesh
Cons to consider
Turns out, that the Achilles heel of this chair is its seat. After several days or weeks, it loses its firmness and becomes very flat. People feel screws and the metal bracket which makes it no longer comfortable and safe to use. If you like everything about this chair and think of buying it, consider getting a foam seat pad to accompany the chair.

8. Very breathable: a good no-frills option that will provide free airflow and let you stay cool.
4 stars out of 5
52% of 5-star reviews
Adjustability & support
This chair may boast the following features:
- 90° flip-up armrest will help make your room more spacious. Just move the chair under a desk when you no longer need it.
- Adjustable lumbar support will fit your waist to protect your spine and provide a preferring sitting position for you.
- The 125° rocking function will help you take a break from work and relax.
Ease of assembly
In general, customers leave positive feedback:
- This chair was easy to assemble. It only took about half an hour and all the parts fitted.
- It’s very easy to assemble and comes with all of the tools you need to assemble it.
- It is easy to assemble!
- Pretty easy to assemble (15 min), and come with a few spare screws. To get the castors into the plastic base — just put it the right way up, place the castor and bang down on the base. It’s easy enough. Photos in the assembly manual are quite hard to see, though not too much of an issue for me.
Other features
Capacity: 150 kg
360° swivel
Breathable mesh
Cons to consider
Some reviewers find the sear padding quite uncomfortable for extended use without some form of cushion.
Also, it may not be comfortable for people outside of the recommended height (150–180 cm). It’s more suited to be used as an office (only) chair for smaller people rather than heavily used by a heavier person.
Another issue is that the chair may start to slowly ease itself down whilst I a person is sitting on it. “I found myself at the beginning of my working period nice and level and within the hour I looked like a child trying to reach the desk as it had lowered itself to the floor.”
Also, the arms may become wobbly quite quickly. It’s possible to take them off and tighten the nut up again, but that’s quite a pain.
