“We Are Meant to Be,” A Guy Marries a 252-lb Woman Despite the Mockery He Received

In the realm of love, finding a perfect match cannot be confined to a single formula. The perception of beauty is subjective, and love doesn’t demand conformity to any set standards. Matt and Brittany’s love story is a remarkable illustration of this idea.

Despite mockery and disapproval from those unable to see beyond their dissimilarities, they have demonstrated that genuine love transcends outward appearances. It necessitates accepting one another as individuals and embracing each other’s true selves.

For Brittany, finding genuine relationship was hard.

Brittany Jacques, a 23-year-old woman, had been searching for love and acceptance her whole life. No matter how hard she tried, she always ended up disappointed and heartbroken. Her relationships with controlling partners had left her feeling hopeless and drained, which made her lose confidence in herself and her body.

Despite the mixed signals from her ex-boyfriends, who either wanted her to lose weight or fetishized her curves, Brittany decided. She was determined not to let anyone undermine her self-worth anymore. So, she bravely chose to shut herself off from the possibility of finding love.

Little did she know that fate had something else in store for her. Sometimes, life brings people together in unexpected and beautiful ways. Brittany was about to experience one of those moments and discover a love story she never saw coming.

Their paths crossed, although it wasn’t easy at first.

In August 2020, Brittany unexpectedly connected with Matt Montgomery through Facebook. The connection and chemistry are undeniable. So, despite the physical differences, Brittany and Matt started to talk to each other.

Reflecting on their early encounters, Brittany shares, “I was a bit hesitant at first. I’ve been in relationships where guys have insisted that I lose weight or change my appearance.” She explained how it affected her self-confidence and self-worth. There was a time when she tried to alter her size.

Ignoring the criticism, they followed their hearts and became certain they were meant to be together. Montgomery proposed to Jacques in January 2021. Later on, they announced their marriage on social media in August 2021. “Forever love,” they wrote.

As Brittany and Matt fearlessly shared their love story with the world, they encountered hurtful comments and judgment from online trolls. Matt admitted that people questioned his masculinity and physical stature. “People leave comments on Instagram, suggesting that I’m not big enough or manly enough for her,” he revealed. He also mentioned the occasional stares they received when walking down the street.

Their family grows beautifully beyond any criticism.

Despite the hurtful criticism and discomfort, the couple refused to allow the negative feeling to drive them apart. Instead, they committed to stand united and prove that love knows no shape or size boundaries. Interestingly, Matt had experienced negative encounters with thin women, which made him appreciate Brittany even more as his soulmate.

Matt was captivated by Brittany’s body-positive attitude and self-love from the moment he met her. He focused on her happiness rather than pressuring her to change her appearance. Matt dedicated an Instagram post to Brittany. “You are worthy, you deserve infinite love every single day and more. The way I look at you and feel for you, and the way you look at me and feel for me, is how I know that we are meant to be,” the caption read.

Brittany and Matt take pride in their mixed-weight relationship and aspire to serve as an example for others who find themselves in a similar situation. “I wish mixed-weight relationships were more commonplace and accepted,” Brittany expressed, emphasizing the need for greater understanding and inclusivity.

After welcoming their first child in March 2022, their family felt whole and complete. And just recently, in their latest post, they joyfully announced that they are now expecting to expand their family even further.

Jacques and Montgomery prove that love isn’t limited to societal norms. It can blossom in any situation, at any time, and in any way. As the wise saying goes, “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” —Aristotle.
