A Fried Shrimp Reveals Its Biggest Dream, Melts Everyone’s Hearts, and Becomes an Internet Star Within Just 2 Weeks
On the 16th of August, Instagram got a new user with the nickname “ebiflife.” Ebif is short for “ebifurai” (“ebi fry”), which literally translates as “fried prawn” and as you’ve probably already guessed, this account shows the life of a fried prawn — one of the most popular foods in Japan. However, this prawn is something you’ve never seen before — it plays the guitar, enjoys summer, goes camping, and longs for the sea. Over a span of just 2 weeks, the “ebiflife” account gained almost 60,000 followers on Twitter and more than 9,000 on Instagram.
We at Bright Side like new things and unusual solutions, and we like fried shrimp too. So we invite you to have a look at Ebif’s life and learn a little bit more about the wishes and everyday routine of this shrimp.
Everything started with the photo above: A shrimp looking out of the window with a lifebuoy around its waist and the hashtag #海へ行きたい, which translates as, “I want to go to the beach.”
Just like humans, fried shrimp feel hot in the summer.
They like to try on hats.
They have to clean their apartments.
They like to chill.
They go camping.
They struggle with going up the stairs.
And they enjoy life to the fullest.
