Even the most durable things have an expiration date. That’s a fact, whether we like it or not. And if you pay attention to your surroundings, you may be able to spot those little signs that time leaves behind when it does its thing. You may not be paying attention, but the world is continuously changing and thanks to cameras, we can now look at people’s images that remind us that time never stops.

1. “20 year difference — Over 30ft of growth.”

2. “My dad’s bibs from the early ’90s, next to my new pair.”

3. “We replaced my dad’s 16-year-old TV remote.”

7. “My granddad and his wheels, ~1950 & 2020.”

8. “My baking pans — 20-year-old, 3-year-old, and brand new.”

9. “Mighty Wallet 10 year, time to replace.”

10. “Left vs. right pedal on this piano from 1902”

11. “My baby blankie. I’m 22 and can’t sleep without it.”

13. “The wooden floor exposed vs. under a wardrobe.”

14. “What 14 years of use do to your Crocs.”

15. “The spot where everyone stands in this elevator in Belgium.”

18. “Jacket I dyed two years ago. I never noticed how much it faded until I unfolded my sleeves.”

20. “The only progress photo that matters. My nearly 10-year-old leather belt has seen many phases of my life and many more to come.”

21. “I like to rest my hand on my leg while driving, and over the past couple years, have managed to wear a hole in my pants in that spot.”

I STILL use my baby blanket almost 29 years later, it's still free of rips and tears because it's silk which lasts a long time

That's very cool. Silk really is such a incredibly strong and durable fabric to be so airy, light, and delicate to touch. I had a handmade silk nightgown that was made for me and it was the sublime feeling to wear it and lasted forever.
