What Some Forgotten Disney Channel Celebs Look Like and What They Do Today

Disney is one of the great producers of children’s audiovisual content. Thousands of actors have gone through their channels. Currently, some of them have successful careers both in the world of film and television or in other areas. There are others that we just stopped seeing, despite having participated in great movies and series. That doesn’t mean that they have any less talent. Instead, they focused their lives and careers away from the cameras or decided to work in a more low-profile industry.

Bright Side wanted to remember some of these Disney stars and tell you what they have been up to.

1. Jason Earles — Hannah Montana

For 5 years, Jason Earles played Jackson Stewart, Miley/Hannah’s charismatic brother. He was undoubtedly one of the funniest characters in the series, as his outrageous adventures, humor, and awkwardness made us all laugh together. In addition to this Disney series that rose to fame, he also previously participated in American Pie Presents: Band Camp. After playing his role as Jackson, the actor was seen in Kickin’ It and in Hotel Du Loone, a Brat sitcom. In 2017, he married his girlfriend, Katie Drysen, and today, far from any camera, he works as an acting mentor.

2. Brenda Song — The Suite Life of Zack & Cody

Brenda Song became world-famous by playing London Tipton in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and in its sequels. London was the rich and ostentatious girl from the Tipton Hotel, where her adventures were developed together with the twins and all the workers of the hotel. She was also seen in various films and productions like Station 19, a series derived from Grey’s Anatomy, and Secret Obsession, available on Netflix.

3. David Henrie — The Wizards of Waverly Place

Although David Henrie has made appearances on the hit series NCIS, House and How I Met Your Mother, his claim to stardom came while playing Justin Russo, the smarter brother of Alex (Selena Gomez) in The Wizards of Waverly Place. He also appeared in The Suite Life on Deck, and in JONAS LA, the Jonas Brothers series. He got married in 2017, and, in 2019, welcomed his first daughter: Pia Philomena Francesca, whose last name is in honor of Pope Francis. He named her after he said a prayer together with the Pope. His new projects This Is The Year and Max & Me are currently in post-production.

4. Moisés Arias — Hannah Montana

Moisés Arias played the unruly and friendly Rico in Hannah Montana. His constant cheating and evil acts toward Jackson (Jason Earles) defined him as one of the most beloved and, at the same time, the most hated characters of the successful TV series. Although he gained worldwide recognition thanks to that production, the Colombian-American actor has a long history in supporting roles in movies and series and even gave his voice to Antonio Pérez in Despicable Me 2. He last appeared in Blast Beat and has two new upcoming movies titled The King of Staten Island and Samaritan. and today he also works as a photographer.

5. Sabrina Bryan — The Cheetah Girls

From 2003 to 2008, Bryan played Dorinda Thomas, a dancer for the band The Cheetah Girls. She participated in several dance films and in 2007 and 2012 she participated in the program Dancing with the Stars. She’s been married since 2018 and is currently pregnant with her first child.

6. Allisyn Ashley Arm — Sonny with a Chance

Allisyn began her career at the young age of 4, participating in numerous television commercials and making appearances in various movies and TV series, like Friends. Her success came while participating in Sonny with a Chance, where she played Zora, a crazy girl and comedy actress, and also as part of Sonny’s spin-off, So Random! In 2015, she started a film production company called Watch The Footage Productions with her current husband, Dylan Snyder. The last time she was seen as an actress was in a TV Series, A.P. Bio in 2020, as Heather. She also made a short film titled Seek.

7. Kaycee Stroh — High School Musical

Kaycee Stroh played the nerdy dancer from East High in the High School Musical trilogy. Thanks to the series, she gained worldwide recognition. She also previously appeared in Zac and Cody: Twins in Action. She now has 2 daughters, Zetta and Lettie. Stroh is one of the HSM participants who most remembers the franchise on her social networks. On the 10-year anniversary of the premiere of the first part, she visited the real school where the movies were shot. We were also able to see her again as Martha Cox in the Disney Family Sing Along virtual concert where she sang “We’re All in this Together” with her ex-partners.

8. Keke Palmer — Jump In!

Keke Palmer played Mary Thomas in Jump In! together with the renowned Corbin Bleu. But her time at Disney was not what led her to fame, she already had a long history of participating in films and series like ER and Law and Order. We also saw her in Grey’s Anatomy, Degrassi and Scream Queens. She is not only a great actress, but also a singer: in 2007 she released her first album, So Uncool, and even recorded two EPs. She recently released her latest single, Sticky.

9. Anneliese van der Pol — That’s So Raven

Anneliese van der Pol became well-known while portraying Chelsea Daniels, Raven Baxter’s (Raven-Symoné) best friend in the classic Disney series. Although she does not have an extensive career in film and television, she does have it in theater, where she has worked for the past 30 years. She has participated in renowned works like Sleeping Beauty, Grease, Beauty and The Beast, and Evita, among others. Still, since 2017 we’ve seen her as Chelsea in Raven’s House, a spin-off of the original series.

10. Jake Thomas — Lizzie McGuire

Jake Thomas, played Matt McGuire, Lizzie’s (Hilary Duff) mischievous younger brother in the eponymous series. He also participated in series like House, ER, and Cory in the House. He last appeared in the movie The Unwilling and was also spotted in an episode of S.W.A.T.. He currently works as a photographer and is the creator of the advertising campaign for the previous season of the series 13 Reasons Why. He has been announced to make a comeback as Matt McGuire in the Lizzie McGuire reboot for Disney+.

I only knew the first 4, and It's funny how you kinda forget about those actors as you get older. They probably weren't the best actors, but you loved them 100% when you were a kid

I was wondering if that guy who acted the role of Rico in Hannah Montana is still a teenager. Looks like he has become an adult and is successful in his own field.
