Nobody is perfect, and we all make mistakes, but that’s just what makes us all human. Admitting your insecurities can actually make you better at almost everything you do. Research shows that acknowledging your mistakes can improve your performance and intensify every action you undertake. Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow have revealed some of their insecurities throughout their lives and shared their next steps in taking control over them.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted to hurting people unintentionally. “I have hurt people, never intentionally, but I have done so just the same. I have let people down by not being who they needed me to be. I have betrayed myself to keep the peace.” Gwyneth has crossed lines and claims she has not spoken her truth which she considers her most lasting mistake.

However, her focus is now on the future, enjoying the little things in life, like singing in the shower, cooking dinner, and opening up to her husband more. “I would like to slow down. I would like to make my circle smaller. I would like to see misunderstandings become understandings.”

2. Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner shares 2 children with Travis Scott, Stormi, and their new son. Kylie admitted to crying for 3 weeks after the birth of her son — her second child. “I should really be happy right now. I just had this new baby, but I cried nonstop for, like, 3 weeks.”

3. Howie Mandel

While he was a host on the show, America’s Got Talent, Howie Mandel made a joke about bulimia and people got offended by it. There was a contestant named Stevie Starr, who is known for swallowing whole objects and bringing them back up in one piece. To this Howie replied, “You, sir, make bulimia entertaining.”

He has apologized for his words and claims he wasn’t thinking at all. “I made light of bulimia, which is a very serious eating disorder and mental health issue. I deal with mental health all the time, and I did something stupid. I should never make light of it. I’m not perfect, I make mistakes.”

4. Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds grew up with 3 older brothers and said that experience prepared him for his role in Deadpool. He claims it’s intense when you are the youngest of 4 boys, “You sort of cultivate all these other aspects, survival aspects, that you wouldn’t normally cultivate, you know, being the oldest.”

That was the main reason why he connected well to his character 11 years ago. “As a kid, I was the youngest of 4 boys. I wasn’t considered a younger brother, I was considered a moving target.”

5. The Rock

Even Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, has a heart of feathers — but admits he has a “cold, dark soul.” He made a man cry tears of joy when he signed his replica belt at an event. The man was shaking and amazed when he met The Rock. “Even my cold, dark soul gets a little emotional when I see people start to break and cry... it’s a beautiful thing.”

6. Britney Spears

All women with children can probably agree that nothing can compare to a mother’s love. Britney Spears admitted to crying oceans over her children. She has 2 sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and claims, “It literally sucks. They don’t need me anymore. I’ve cried oceans for my boys and I’m not lying!”

7. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Catherine Zeta-Jones admits that she is more insecure than she ever lets anyone know. She claims that people sometimes protect themselves with armor that others see more than they see you.

She also admits she’s obsessed with antique stores, and has a growing collection of acquired items which even her husband, Michael Douglas, has named. Catherine specifically likes silver, and for years she’s collected shiny antique pieces.
