When I went to my first gyno (one that I chose, after years of military medical) , I was working at a major sports arena. He would ask me about our State's teams, and stats. Made it quick and easy. No inappropriate conversation. Worked for 15 years.

Your mother DIDN'T teach you about this BEFORE you needed to know?
Yeah, this story is complete BS.
What 14 year old wears PJs to school?
Is this more AI nonsense?
Went to school in the US. Rolling out of bed and coming in your pj's is perfectly normal for many.
Why were you wearing pajamas at school? And did your mother, or sister or cousin, someone NOT explain to you how to care for yourself during a period?
Many families are too embarrassed or lack education themselves. Some parents don't want to accept their daughters are grown up. Thank goodness for young women's magazines of the 1980s, otherwise I would have thought I was dying.
My father became a maintenance supervisor at a college. He had 7 daughters. He would bring home the INDUSTRIAL SIZED boxes of pads, for the machines. My 3 year old sister KNEW what pads were for. She came out of the bathroom with 5 of them sticking out of her rubber pants, saying, ooh, ooh, I got my period. More than 50 years later, it is STILL HILARIOUS 😂
My mother took off before I had my period. No, she didn't talk to me about it and my Dad was embarrassed. Don't have any other family. I don't know how anyone can say what you did, gillian. As if everyone just has family around! There was NOONE who showed many of us. We learned as it happened. No mother, no sisters, no cousins. Get over yourself.
I am sorry that you didn't have anyone to help you with that, but Gillian was not trying to be mean. Just because you had that kind of experience, doesn't mean that everyone else should or would know it. Just like you didn't know about what having your period was, doesn't mean that others are trying to be hurtful or mean.
PJs, OK, not a big deal. NOT knowing anything about your period, AT 14? NOPE.

I have NEVER done anything on FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, or any other social media sites.YES, I am a boomer, NO I don't see the point. Responding to these stories, is AS SOCIAL AS I GET. If you don't put it out there, you have nothing to worry about. People who shame and insult others on these sites, ARE COWARDS and LOSERS. People who BELIEVE ALL THE CRAP THEY SEE ON THESE SITES ARE JUST AS BAD.

Good heavens! A PE teacher actually demonstrating something! All the ones I ever came across just stood with their arms folded and TOLD the class what to do.
