8 Celebrities Who Shared Parenting Fails, Showing We Can Learn From Everyone’s Mistakes

As parents, we often hold ourselves to a greater degree of responsibility. The mistakes we make, small as they may be, usually haunt us for the rest of our lives. And it seems the rich and famous are no different, as they too get embarrassed about their parenting goof-ups and the hilarity that ensues.

Bright Side adores these celebrities who shared anecdotes of them failing at parenting, helping us learn from their errors.

1. P!nk admits her daughter has a sailor’s mouth.

Singer and songwriter P!nk, whose birth name is Alecia Beth Moore, is married to motocross driver Carey Hart and shares a daughter named Willow Sage, 11, and son Jameson Moon, 5.

She admits that she did not bother filtering out the cuss words in front of her daughter when she was 3, and Willow used plenty of naughty words before P!nk finally put an end to it. She found it a little too cute and let it carry on for a bit.

2. Mila Kunis regrets giving aggressive advice to her daughter.

Mila Kunis shares daughter Wyatt, 8, and son Dimitri, 6, with husband Ashton Kutcher, and the couple is known for their non-traditional parenting.

Kunis has shared that her biggest parenting fail has been the advice she gave to her daughter. When her daughter told her that she had been pushed by a child, Kunis advised her to push back, something she regrets today.

3. Brad Pitt used soda to get his kids out of bed.

Brad Pitt shares 6 children with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, with 3 being biological and the other 3 being adopted.

He once confessed that to get his brood of 6 kids out of bed when they were small, he would bribe them with Coca-Cola. Not an ideal parenting technique, but it seemed to work for him at the time.

4. Kelly Ripa fell down with her child in her arms.

Kelly Ripa’s 3 children with husband Mark Consuelos are all grown up now, leaving the couple to enjoy their empty-nester status.

But she’d had her share of parenting fails. Ripa once fell down some stairs with her 20-month-old son in her arms, who got hurt and needed stitches. It took her months to get over the guilt.

5. Kelly Clarkson’s daughter mouthed naughty words.

Kelly Clarkson shares 2 children with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock — daughter River Rose, born in June 2014, and son Remington “Remy” Alexander, born in April 2016.

She was left speechless when her 3-year-old daughter used some naughty words that she learned from a children’s movie. Clarkson considers it her fault for having let her daughter watch it without any supervision.

6. Zoe Saldaña’s boys guilt her into buying toys.

Zoe Saldaña, best known for playing Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shares 3 boys with her husband, Marco Perego.

The elder boys, twins Cy and Bowie, were industrious enough to make sure that if they let their mama go to work, she needed to bring home a surprise for them. That meant Saldaña got blackmailed for toys by her little ones.

7. Jennifer Garner forgot she had a third child.

Jennifer Garner has 3 children — 2 daughters and a son that she shares with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

While she loves being a mother, when her youngest, Samuel, was a toddler, she also had her hands full with raising 2 daughters. She admitted that sometimes she’d put the baby down and then forget where she’d put him, racing all over the house looking for him.

8. Halle Berry lost her daughter while shopping.

Halle Berry has 2 children, daughter Nahla and son Maceo, with different partners. While she recently celebrated her daughter’s fourteenth birthday on social media, things were not as calm when Nahla was young.

Berry remembers how when her daughter was 2, they were out shopping and she got lost. While Berry was looking at a tag, Nahla disappeared and Berry was frantic, only to discover the little girl was hiding right next to her in a rack of pants.

Have you ever experienced any of these parenting fails with your children? What has been the one thing you haven’t been able to shake off the guilt of?
