Family Combo: Couple Who Were Born on the Same Day Have Twins on Their Birthday

This family definitely will not accept any excuses for belated birthday wishes. Scierra Blair and José Ervin are a couple from Ohio, and they became viral for a bizarre coincidence that recently happened in their family. The young parents became the ones to beat the odds of about 1 in every 133,000 births, and now they share their birthday with their twins.

August 18th is the celebration day for everyone in this family.

An Ohio couple, Scierra Blair, 31, and José Ervin, 32, both celebrate their birthdays on August 18th. This year, the spouses welcomed a son and a daughter just five minutes past midnight, and the date was again August 18th.

“It’s a blessing,” Ervin said in his interview. “Best birthday present ever.”

Indeed, a set of newborn twins turned out to be a once-in-a-blue-moon gift on their shared birthday.

The family has beaten all odds on that miraculous day.

The odds of a kid who’ll share a birthday with both of their parents are extremely rare. The chances are about 1 in every 133,000 births, as per the Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children estimate.

Together with the rate of twin delivery, which is about 31 in every 1,000 births, the happy parents had more chances of being hit by lightning than delivering newborns on their own birthday.

Erwin shares his emotions about his newborns, saying, “They were my birthday present, and I’m good with that. I’m so stoked. I kiss them like 30,000 times a day.”

And here’s yet another mind-boggling story about a miracle happening in an ordinary family. Read more about the couple who welcomed the family’s first daughter in 138 years.
