Harrison Ford Replies to Female Reporter’s Question on How He Stays “Hot” and Fit at Age 80

During a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival for his latest film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, acclaimed actor Harrison Ford proudly displayed his honorary Palme d’Or and received praise from journalists. One reporter even expressed her admiration for the octogenarian star, complimenting his attractiveness, to which Ford had the perfect reaction. The humorous exchange highlights the enduring appeal and attraction that Ford continues to hold for fans.
Ford had a playful response to the unexpected compliment.
In a lighthearted moment during the press conference, the female reporter told Ford that he was “very hot,” and that she was stunned to witness a scene in the movie where the actor removes his shirt. Additionally, curious about his fitness routine and abilities, she inquired about his equestrian skills. With a hint of humor, Ford responded by confirming his proficiency in horseback riding, adding a playful remark, “Let me tell you. Yeah, I can ride a horse... if they let me.”

Regarding his fitness, the iconic actor playfully shared, “I have been blessed with this body. Thanks for noticing.” At the end, Ford expressed his gratitude and acknowledged the reporter’s kind words, playfully quipping, “Thank you. I didn’t mean to be cruel. I forgot everything up to, ’Can you ride a horse?’”
He expressed his opinion on the digital de-aging technology used in the movie.
In this fourth installment, Indiana Jones, accompanied by his goddaughter, embarks on a race against time to retrieve a legendary artifact that possesses the ability to alter history. The story delves into the past, utilizing digital de-aging technology to present Ford’s character in a likeness that resembles his appearance from decades ago.

Ford showed his admiration for the advancements in technology, stating, “Look, the technology has evolved, or this iteration of that technology has evolved to the point where it, to me, seems very realistic.” He emphasized that the portrayal of his younger self in the film is indeed his own face and not a mere result of digital manipulation, affirming, “That’s what I looked like 35 years ago.”
He also expressed his satisfaction with the skillful implementation of the technology, stating, “And so I think it was used very skillfully. So I’m very happy with it, but I don’t look back and say, ’I wish I was that guy again, because I don’t.’ I’m happy to be, you know what? I’m real happy with age, I love being older. It was great to be young, but I could be dead, and I’m still working.”
Ford’s portrayal of Indiana Jones in this last installment marks his final performance in the role.
The iconic character of the adventurous, fedora-wearing hero has been an integral part of Ford’s career, spanning 5 films over a remarkable 40-year period. However, when asked about the possibility of future “Indy” adventures featuring a younger version of the actor, producer Kathleen Kennedy replied with a definitive “no.” While Ford confirmed, “You got the answer from the right person.”
In revisiting the character for the last time, Ford has expressed his desire for a sense of closure with the 5-film series. He explained, “I wanted to see the weight of life on him. I wanted to see him require reinvention. I wanted him to have a relationship that wasn’t a flirty movie relationship.”

The screening of the movie was an emotional moment for everyone involved as it marks the end of an era. Ford received an emotional 5-minute standing ovation as a farewell for the legendary actor in the role of Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones, Jr.
