Serena Williams Welcomes Baby No. 2, Reveals Unique and Noble Name

“Welcome my beautiful angel.” This is how the tennis star, 41, announced the birth of her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian as she shared a super creative video on TikTok. The power couple also revealed the baby’s face and special name — the meaning behind it gave us goosebumps.

A heartwarming video

Williams shared the happy news with her fans by posting a sweet clip of her family including her newborn baby girl. In the video, Serena and her husband, Alexis, were shown sitting at a table. They hugged, kissed, and then their first child, Olympia, happily ran into her mom’s arms.

Once the proud mama kissed her daughter on the forehead, she looked at her husband and appeared to say, “I’ll be right back.” She then went to get their new bundle of joy, who was cozily wrapped in a soft baby blanket.

She made the video even more memorable by adding the music of Bazzi’s song ’’Beautiful’’.

A wholesome family

The same day, Alexis, 40, also shared the news of the arrival of their second daughter on his own Instagram. The Reddit co-founder posted a series of pics showing the beaming family of four together, as well as a couple of snaps of his eldest daughter, Olympia, meeting her baby sister.

He captioned the post, ’’I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama.’’ Ohanian added that he’s “Feeling grateful” and tagged his wife, thanking her for giving him “another incomparable gift.” He also thanked the medical staff for taking care of Serena and his daughter.

A powerful name

The newborn’s name is Adira River Ohanian. The name means ’’strong, noble, powerful.’’

And Alexis concluded his Instagram post with a quote that is a nod to the baby’s middle name, River. He wrote, ’’Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.’’
