14 Things Adults Have Done to Kids That Left Them With Emotional Scars

Although we usually treasure at least one, or maybe many, beautiful memories from our childhood, we can also retain in our minds those unpleasant things that happened to us as kids. Perhaps when we were children, an adult was so unkind to us that now we find it liberating to share the experience, even if we still feel a bit resentful about it.

Bright Side invites you to read these stories about the mindless, rude things adults did to the little kids (now adults) in their lives.

WHEN I WAS IN GRADE 5 I WAS THE ONE WHO GOT THE HIGHEST MARKS AND WAS UP FOR AN AWARD IN MY SCHOOL. BUT THEN MY CLSS TEACHER WHO THINKS I HAVE A LOT OF ATTITUDE HAD GIVEN IT TO A GIRL IN THR 7TH RANK. WHEN MY MOM ASKED ABOUT IT AND WAS GOING TO COMPLAIN TO THE PRINCIPAL SHE CHANGED THE TOTAL MARKS AND PUT MY NAME AT 6TH AND THAT GIRL'S NAME IN THE 1ST POSITION. I AM STILL MAD AT HER FOR THIS.

As an educator, I am HORRIFIED, FURIOUS and SO SORRY for all the inexcusable behavior you experienced. Those "teachers" have/had no business being in the classroom unmonitored or without being reprimanded or if that type of behavior was often, eventually released. Our job, besides teaching, encompasses many things but none of them involve leaving hurt, stings, or bad memories. I pray none of my kiddos from years past and present have ever felt anything but love, encouragement and acceptance, that when they think of that year they only have happy memories. Those kiddos are part of my heart. They became my kiddos for life the day I hugged them as they walked into my classroom for the first time. After reading these, my heart hurts at the thought of one of them maybe having a salty, sad, embarrassing or hurtful memory. So, if any of Mrs. B's former 3rd grade babies from OES are reading this, if I ever did something that created a hurt in you, I so sincerely apologize. From the bottom of my heart, I would never intentionally have done that.

Not really about me, but I have a teacher who is REALLY mean. Yep, you guessed it, I'm a student. She's my Maths teacher and also my class teacher. For some reason she loves embarrassing a particular group of students including a lot of my friends. She's always calling on them when they don't raise their hands and asking them what questions they have when they perfectly understand. But the worst thing is that she makes people stand up for NO REASON AT ALL. She makes them stand for half the lesson and doesn't tell them what they did wrong. She's tried to humiliate me a few times as well but I try not to let her get me.
