Dylan Sprouse and Model Barbara Palvin Are Officially Engaged

After dating for 5 years, actor Dylan Sprouse and model Barbara Palvin have announced their engagement. In an interview, conducted by Dylan’s twin brother and fellow actor, Cole Sprouse, the couple revealed details of the engagement and the future wedding ceremony.

The pair has been engaged since September, 2022, but only now decided to confirm it.

There has been speculation about the couple’s engagement since early 2023, when Palvin was seen wearing a diamond ring set on a gold band at a red carpet event. Even so, they decided to take their time when making it official to the world. Through a magazine interview, where both The Suite Life of Zack and Cody-stars reunited, Cole and Dylan Sprouse, the couple explained their reasons.

“We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement,” Dylan said. On the other hand, Palvin was more blunt and admitted she was “really annoyed” when that information was leaked. “We just want to do it on our time. So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way,” she shared.

The two also took the time in the interview to reveal a few details of their wedding, particularly where it’ll happen. “I know that this wedding is in Hungary, which is quite exciting for everyone,” Cole mentioned, and followed with a question of why Hungary vs. the United States. “I’m excited to show that side of me and introduce my culture, the places I grew up, and the places I went to,” Palvin, a Hungary native, replied.

The occasion will also mark the first time the parents of both Palvin and Sprouse meet. “It’s going to be a big event, with both of our parents meeting for the first time, too,” Dylan added.

They first met in 2017.

Although Palvin and Sprouse met in 2017, at a party, they only started dating in 2018. “We’ve been dating for five years, officially, but we actually met like eight months before at an event,” the model recalled. “That was just a short interaction, and then I ghosted him for 6 months until I got myself back into the picture.”

They made their relationship official through Instagram, when Palvin posted a photo of the two with a special caption for Sprouse’s birthday. “Even though it’s your birthday I feel I just got the biggest present of all,” she declared to her millions of followers.

Not every celebrity couple has taken as much time as these two getting engaged. In fact, many celebrity couples have taken less than a year to say “yes”, with some getting engaged only a month after they started dating.
