8 Celebrities Who Made It Into the Guinness World Records
The Guinness Book of Records has already existed for more than 60 years. Every year it approves around 6,000 records out of 50,000 applications. It’s no wonder that some of those records are set by people known all over the world for their professional achievements. Here we present some record-breakers with celebrity status.
Bright Side collected some Guinness World Records set by singers, TV hosts, actors, and politicians. These records are not connected to their income or their place in the music charts. Read this list until the end to find out who set the record themselves and who got there with the help of others.
1. Shakira
Shakira possesses an impressive number of Guinness World Record certificates — she broke the record three times! Not only does she hold the title for Best-Selling Spanish Album and Best-Selling Spanish Single, she was the first person to reach 100 million likes on Facebook.
2. Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr did not break the record by himself, but he became an inspiration with his record breaking birthday card. For his birthday, Downey was presented with a card containing 5,339 signatures from fans during his visit to China. The previous record held by a card was received by Churchill Insurance.
3. Ozzy Osbourne

4. Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock
Professional wrestler and actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, holds a number of world records, but the most surprising of them has to do with selfies. 5. Metallica
Metallica holds a Guinness World Records plaque for being the first band that toured on all 7 continents. This achievement was recorded after they had played their concert at The Carlini Argentine Base in Antarctica. Their concert became the second one ever played in Antarctica, and their audience consisted of 7 people.
6. Ellen DeGeneres
We are all familiar with the selfie that was taken during The Oscar’s and was tweeted by TV star, Ellen DeGeneres. This picture broke the world record for being retweeted 3.3 million times!
