9 Celebrities Over 60 Spilled Their Best Aging Tips, and We Can’t Help but Applaud Them

year ago

Although aging is often associated with less energy and the fading of beauty, many celebrities start to speak openly about embracing their golden years. These stars believe that getting older is natural and refuse to fight it. Instead of undergoing expensive plastic surgeries and altering their faces, they inspire all of us to age gracefully.

We at Bright Side admire these beautiful and strong women who prove you can get better with age.

1. Jamie Lee Curtis

The 63-year-old actress believes we shouldn’t fight aging. “Aging is as natural as a baby’s softness and scent. Aging is human evolution in its pure form,” she wrote in a powerful essay. The award-winning star suggests getting older only means you should keep pushing forward. “It’s too easy to sit back and look at screens and see life passing us by. Get sweaty. We can never say we’ve done enough,” she said.

2. Helen Mirren

It seems the 76-year-old star just keeps getting more successful with age. While she admits she indulges in her favorite snacks every once in a while, she tries to eat healthy most of the time. “I’m the first one at the fish and chips, but what you’re putting inside your body does influence how you feel about yourself, so start there,” she said.

3. Alfre Woodard

The Desperate Housewives actress believes getting older only means you can break more rules. “Age is what you decide you want it to be. I don’t want to put an expiration date on showing my jiggly legs at the beach, or say, ’I’m over 50. I shouldn’t wear this.’ I am free and happy,” she shared.

4. Glenn Close

The Oscar winner and Hollywood icon knows that aging in the spotlight isn’t easy, but getting older actually turned out not to be as hard as she had anticipated. “All your life, you think 60 is ancient, and all of a sudden, you find you’re 60 and you don’t really feel that different. I feel stronger and more engaged. This is the best time of my life,” she said.

5. Sharon Stone

The 64-year-old actress feels just as beautiful in her sixties as she did in her twenties. “I’m so grateful to my body. I started to understand that I was going to go for being more like a European woman who got more beautiful with age and who could understand that women are more beautiful than girls because they know something,” she shared.

6. Jane Seymour

At age 71, Jane Seymour is living proof of just how beautiful aging can be. She admits she works out to keep looking her best, but for her, the key is to enjoy the process. “I work out but not obsessively. I eat everything in moderation. I don’t even have facials. I do my own makeup. So I just look after my own skin and I take care of myself,” she said.

7. Christie Brinkley

For the 68-year-old supermodel, aging is all about staying active and practicing gratitude. “Get out of the house and take a walk. That’s important. And of course, smiling! I really do think it has to do with an attitude of gratitude. An attitude of gratitude keeps you happy, and happiness is youthful,” she believes.

8. Sharon Osbourne

The reality TV star says her secret to looking good as she ages is not to worry about other people’s expectations. “Look good for yourself and be healthy for yourself. We take care of everybody else and the last person we take care of is yourself. Just remember how important you are,” she said.

9. Oprah Winfrey

For the talk show host, feeling your best at any age is all about being true to yourself. “Of course, I want to feel strong and vibrant. But I know for sure that the pathway to your best life isn’t the route of denial. It’s owning every moment. Staking a claim in right now. And, with gratitude, embracing the age you are,” she wrote.

If you were asked to give an aging tip, what would you say?
