14 Ways in Which “Shrek” Inspired “Game of Thrones”

Films

Shrek was released in 2001. The film tells the adventures of a green and grumpy ogre and his friend, a donkey, as they try to rescue an enchanted princess. We can find similarities between the characters or the plot of this film with many other productions, but, undoubtedly, the ones it has with the acclaimed series Game of Thrones are numerous.

We at Bright Side were impressed with the resemblance we could find between the two and have created this list for you to see them too.

1. The costumes of Jaime Lannister and Prince Charming.

2. Similarities in filmmaking

3. Do not forget the presence of dragons in both stories.

4. Dothraki look like villagers.

5. In both productions there are masked people.

6. Podrick looks like the human version of Shrek.

7. Both Arya and Puss in Boots know how to handle a sword.

8. Olenna Tyrell has as many tricks up her sleeve as the Fairy Godmother.

9. Both stories show two short men with a huge personality.

10. Like Jon Snow, King Harold’s true identity is revealed sometime later in the story.

11. Seeing Hodor carrying Bran is like seeing Mongo carrying Shrek.

12. The characters look alike even when they bring out their romantic side.

13. We also found the perfect duo.

14. Seeing people caring for several dragons in both productions is no coincidence.

What other similarities have you found between films or series? Which one has caught your attention the most?

do you know the diffrence between similar and not even close. Also I don't think the word insipred mean what do you think it means. Unless you have time travel machine a moive cannot inspire 3 books that came 5 years, 3 years and 1 year ago. Or tdid you forget that the show was based on the books.
