Building Bridges in Venice is Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn’s project. The hands represent the universal values of friendship, wisdom, faith, help, love, and hope. They come together to symbolize people overcoming their differences in order to make the world better.

2. Wat Samphran, Thailand

Wat Samphran is a Buddhist temple located in Thailand. It’s 80 meters tall and the dragon sculpture that curls around it contains a spiral staircase.

3. The Awakening, USA

The Awakening, located at National Harbor in DC, is a sculpture of a giant stuck in the ground trying to free himself.

4. Jadayupara, India

Jadayupara is the largest sculpture of a bird in the world.

5. Vigeland Park, Norway

This piece is part of the largest sculpture park by a single artist, Gustav Vigeland. The installation consists of 212 sculptures, depicting people at various stages of life and examining human relationships.

6. Bregenz Festival, Austria

Bregenz Festival is an annual performing arts festival. Every year they decorate a floating stage which is a work of art in itself. This particular one, used in 2011 and 2012, was inspired by Jacques-Louis David’s painting, La Mort de Marat.

The blue man is a French architect, Le Corbusier. This sculpture by Xavier Veilhan is intended to pay homage to the masterful artist.

9. La Pleureuse, Japan

La Pleureuse is a sculpture by Claude and Francois-Xavier Lalanne, which is on display in the Hakone Open-Air Museum in Japan.

Ocean Atlas is the largest underwater sculpture in the world. This artwork is 18 feet tall and depicts a local Bahamian girl carrying the weight of the ocean on her shoulders, a reference to the ancient Greek myth of Atlas, the primordial Titan who held up the celestial spheres.

Possibilities, another piece of art by Jaume Plensa, is a sculpture of a man made of the letters of the Korean alphabet. Those who know the language can discover beautiful words like peace, love, and friendship.
