At 15 l had an Epiphany and realised l was more mature than my parents and the rest of my family,and they would never change.
So l packed up an old car l bought with my own money l'd earnt.
l went travelling and working my way at different jobs around Australia for the next 10 yrs, and never spoke to my family for the next 35 yrs. And yes they Were That Toxic. And l never regretted it even when l raised my son as a single parent.
