Wait a minute, didn't tiger and panda populations get encouragingly larger just a few years ago, and also an impressively large number of new trees being planted around the same time? Why is it now there's nothing but bad news stories about the environment left and right? :S
17 Photos Proving Humanity Should Pause and Look at What It’s Doing to the Earth

Plastics are drowning our seas and are destroying the grasses that feed our animals. Micro-plastics are being found in our rivers, that are close to disappearing. Ecosystems are changing and humanity has a lot to do with this, even if we are not able to see the consequences immediately before our eyes.
Here at Bright Side we have taken the time to think about how humanity interferes in nature, and we bring you some examples that will hopefully inspire you to help enact change in the world.
1. Deforestation is leading us toward a world without forests, where animals won’t be able to survive.
2. The primate population is declining and many might have to live in captivity to guarantee their survival.
3. Glaciers have been melting at twice their normal rate since the turn of the century.
4. An oil leak could be just a technical failure for us, but birds will need help to be able to fly free again.
5. Everyone is looking for the perfect paradise, but tourism pollutes these natural landscapes.
6. Sometimes we want to be close to wild animals, but the best picture is portraying them happily living in their own environment.
7. Thousands of animals eat or get entangled in the waste we produce that ends up in the sea.
8. Land salinization and a lack of rain affects animals that are the livelihood of millions of families.
9. Droughts become more frequent and intense, leading to the temporary disappearance of impressive waterfalls.
10. The Aral Sea was once the fourth largest in the world, now it only has 10% of its water left and that can never be restored.
11. Rising sea temperatures are killing colorful coral reefs worldwide and creating a heartbreaking underwater landscape.
12. The 10 year challenge is definitely child’s play, if we propose the 100 year challenge to nature.
13. With our consumption rate, in 2050 there could be more plastic than fish in the oceans.
14. Peeling a fruit takes us 2 minutes, but this plastic takes more than 100 years to disappear.
15. Microplastic is everywhere, like in toothpaste and glitter. And it can even end up in the fish we eat.
16. Only a small percentage of plastics are recycled, the rest ends up in landfills, where animals now forage for food.
17. Melting ice is leaving less space where animals can rest in the middle of the ocean.
Are you aware of how nature is changing rapidly due to human action? What can we do to protect our home besides just stand by and look at these transformations? Are we ready to take action?
