An Amazing Woman, but Still a Father to Her Kids: “Bruce Raised them, and Caitlyn Is Enjoying Her Life With Them”
Caitlyn Jenner’s story is a very unique and memorable one. She changed her life around and went from a successful Olympic gold medalist to a reality show star, and she changed both her public image and physical appearance, which was shocking to everyone, even her family. She claims she did this because she never felt good in her body as a male and always struggled with gender dysphoria, but in the end, her inner desires won.
From Olympic gold medalist to reality TV show star
Caitlyn Jenner, born Bruce Jenner, started off her early years practicing sports. As Bruce, he earned a football scholarship to Graceland College, but an unfortunate knee injury stopped their football career early on. However, Bruce didn’t give up on his dreams, and in 1973, he graduated with a degree in physical education.
Just 3 years later, Bruce won first place at the Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada, setting a world record at 8,616 points.
Bruce had 3 wives before coming out as transgender.
Before transitioning to the opposite gender, Bruce had been married 3 times. Bruce’s first marriage took place in 1972 when he settled down with Chrystie Scott, which resulted in 2 children, but almost 10 years later, they filed for divorce.
In 1981, Bruce married Linda Thompson, an American actress and beauty pageant winner. His second marriage began the same year as the last one ended. The new couple also had 2 sons, but like his previous marriage, this ended after just 5 years.
Bruce’s most recent marriage with the successful businesswoman, Kris Jenner, lasted the longest. The couple tied the knot back in 1991, and it lasted 22 years. Their divorce was finalized on March 23, 2015, but they had already separated 2 years prior. During their happy married years, they gave birth to 2 successful daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who are both succeeding in their careers.
After dating multiple women before, this is what made him transition.
The announcement of Bruce transitioning to the opposite gender came as a surprise to everyone. After dating multiple women and having kids from all of his marriages, Bruce decided to undergo dramatic changes to both his public and physical image, leading to the announcement of their transition.
In an interview, Caitlyn got candid about how she had always been aware of her gender but never had the chance to transition because she was not allowed to do so. These gender identity issues caused many problems in her marriage to Kris Jenner.
Coming out as a transgender woman
In 2015, Caitlyn publicly and officially came out as a transgender woman. In an interview with 20/20, she spoke candidly about how she dealt with gender dysphoria at a very young age and made it clear that she was a woman to avoid any misunderstandings.
Caitlyn wore women’s clothing for several years and underwent hormone replacement therapy, but this process stopped after things got more serious in her romance with Kardashian, which led to their marriage in 1991. During this relationship, she was not allowed to pursue her gender identity exploration.
Her transition changed nothing between her and her children.
It’s been a challenging road for all of them to navigate, but everything went well after all was said and done. But this changed nothing between them.
In a video, Caitlyn Jenner told other celebrities that even though she’s a woman now, she will be a dad to her kids forever. She also said, “My kids all call me Dad. Kendall asked me first, and I said, ‘I’m your dad, and I’ll always be your dad till the day I die.’”
Kris Jenner’s reaction was quite different.
Many of us assumed that bad blood remained between the 2 of us after their dramatic divorce. But this is very far from the truth, even though they live apart now.
Kris Jenner revealed to Us Weekly, “There is no animosity. We are united and committed to our family. We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are no longer a couple in that way. We are happier this way.”
