Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s Love Story Proves That a Blind Date Can Change Your Life for the Best
Finding that special person with whom you’ll spend the rest of your life can be a challenging task. And, of course, every good love story also involves some highs and lows, but when the timing is right and that person finally comes along, suddenly, everything seems to make sense. Perhaps this is what happened to actors Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth, who, regardless of distance and other challenging factors, went on to be together.
Bright Side loves to see how love triumphs and makes many people happy, so today, we want to share the beautiful love story of Chris and Elsa.
2 people who share a profession, as well as a taste and love for acting, seem to have enough things in common to be together. However, Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth had to face a certain number of difficulties to be together. Spoiler alert: they overcame everything that came their way, from age difference to geographical distance and language barriers.
Elsa is a 45-year-old Spanish actress who has also spent some time modeling, while Chris, although he has also dedicated his life to acting, is 38 years old and was born in Australia, more specifically, in Melbourne.
The way life brought them together and led them to meet may be a bit peculiar, as a third party had a lot to do with it. Talent agent William Ward decided that these actors had to meet and didn’t hesitate to set them up on a blind date in early 2010.
From that day on, it seems that a great connection was formed between the 2 actors, as Chris stated, “There was no lightbulb moment. From the first time we met, we made sense. She’s funny, she’s outgoing, she has a sense of humor, and a passionate attitude toward life.”
In September 2010, the couple made their relationship public by walking the red carpet together, and just a few months later, in December of the same year, the 2 decided to get married and walk down the aisle in a ceremony that took place in Australia.
Some were commenting on the haste of their wedding, but the actor stated, “To be honest, there was no plan for it. We were on vacation and we said, ’Why don’t we get married too?’ We probably should have planned, but it all worked out.” He added, “We had both our families on vacation at the same time and we thought this was a good opportunity because we were all together, so we did it.”
2 years after life, fate, and even a talent agent brought them together, they welcomed their first child in London and named her India Rose. Both Elsa’s and Chris’s families flew in to be with the new parents, and the actress’s mother said: “Since the little girl was born, they can’t take the smile off their faces.”
The Spanish actress said, “We did everything very quickly, I don’t know how we survived as a couple. We got married and then a year later, we had children. It puts a lot of pressure on a marriage, but we turned out well because there is a lot of love between us and, although we are very strong personalities, we love each other very much. We make it work.”
After 2 years, in 2014, twins Tristan and Sasha were born in Los Angeles. 5 months earlier, Chris Hemsworth spoke about fatherhood, saying, “I think it brings out the kid in all of us. It reminds you of the fascination you had with things and how you can spend hours just being with someone. It’s amazing.”
This couple has been growing thanks to their mutual support, not only individually or as a couple, but also professionally: “When I met him he wasn’t known at all and I grew with him and experienced all his successes and changes, and then he became just so huge and I’ve been sharing that too. Going through every moment and being there with him with every success was actually a good thing—we grew together,” Pataky said.
In 2014, they decided to leave life in LA and move to Australia with their family. As a couple that put aside their age difference, they forgot about geographical boundaries and put love and family first to make their relationship succeed. They were 2 people who reorganized their lives and their jobs to grow together.
Rumors are always there and, like all couples, they have their ups and downs, but their love for each other keeps them together. They always share new experiences and great moments of fun together as well, which helps them value what they’ve found. In Elsa’s words: “All love stories are beautiful, but ours is my favorite!”
