Christina Ricci Sleeps With Her 8-Year-Old Son While Her Baby Daughter Sleeps Alone

According to a study, babies who sleep alone at 4 months old sleep for an additional 40 minutes as they reach 9 months of age. Having said that, each child has their own needs, and this is what Christina Ricci is proving with her 2 children. The actress revealed that her daughter began sleeping alone at just 9 months old, while her 8-year-old son still sleeps beside her.

Ricci became a mom for the first time at 34, when she welcomed a boy named Freddie with her now ex-husband. And the actress revealed that Freddie, who is now 8, still sleeps in her bed with her.

The 43-year-old actress recalls the first time she sleep-trained him, acknowledging that it was an unsuccessful experience. She noted, ’’He screamed himself hoarse and started banging his head against the crib railing.’’ This reaction led her to quickly reconsider her approach.

Ricci became a mother for the second time at age 41 when she and her husband, Mark Hampton, welcomed their baby daughter, Cleopatra, in 2021.

And the actress revealed that her daughter Cleo’s sleep-training experience was completely different than her son’s.

Speaking of Cleo, who was just 9 months old then, the actress noted, ’’When we decided to try it and see how she would react to it, she just sort of whined for about 7 minutes and then lay down.’’

She went on, describing how sleeping alone came naturally to her daughter, saying, ’’It was like she was ready, and she wanted to do it, and it was right for her.’’

Even though Freddie gave her a bit of a hard time when it came to sleeping, the proud mother shared that he’s been a great helper when it comes to his big-brother duties, revealing, ’’He can help me make a bottle. He can help me in the bathtub with her. It is really great.’’

The busy mama also added that she pays Freddie to watch Cleo “for 20 minutes at a time in her little playpen” so she can complete household tasks.
