Anxiety might be a normal part of life, however, those who struggle with it have a mental health issue that can negatively impact the quality of their days. Fortunately, in recent years, many people, particularly celebrities, have normalized this issue. Ryan Reynolds has been upfront about his difficulties on numerous occasions, but he is not alone — other well-known celebrities have also grown candid and revealed their experiences with panic attacks and severe anxiety.

Ryan Reynolds’ career accomplishments

When it comes to easy charisma and witty sarcasm, Ryan Reynolds is at the top of the list. When he dabbled in the superhero genre, Reynolds found the roles that suited him best. Despite his first downfall with Green Lantern, Reynolds’ biggest box office success came with the superhero films Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), where he starred as the title character.

But, Reynolds, in addition to being a great actor, is also a very charming and handsome man who has always drawn media attention for perfectly combining appeal and charisma.

He and Blake Lively form one of the greatest couples in Hollywood.

Even after being together for so long, Blake and Ryan are still able to maintain their romantic relationship. While Ryan battles his anxiety issues, Blake has never failed to stand by his side. They support each other through good times and bad. “Blake helped me through it. I’m lucky to have her around just to keep me sane,” the actor declared.

The actor, who uses social media frequently, never misses an opportunity to publicly show his love, even if it involves making fun of her. In a long, heartfelt post on Instagram, he wrote: “You’re the heart and soul of every moment this family shares. I’m grateful for the light and for the kindness you smuggle into each and every second of our lives.”

Ryan has always been quite open about his battle with anxiety, providing insights into his experiences with this mental illness, thus he declared: “I’ve had anxiety my whole life, really. And you know, I feel like I have 2 parts of my personality, that one takes over when that happens.”

Reynolds has discovered, over time, where this issue may have originated, relating it to the relationship with his father. “He wasn’t easy for anyone. And he wasn’t easy on himself. I think the anxiety might have started there.” As a result, the actor is attempting to avoid making the same mistake with his own family by creating a free and chill environment around them.

Today Ryan is hoping to help those in his same situation — he wrote on his Instagram, “I know I’m not alone, and, to all those like me who overschedule, overthink, overwork, over-worry, and over-everything, please know you’re not alone.”

Reynolds, who is personally impacted, uses his notoriety and spotlight to mainstream and discuss this issue. “We don’t talk enough about mental health and don’t do enough to destigmatize talking about it, but, as with this post, better late than never, I hope.”

Bonus

Ryan is not the only one who has struggled with anxiety difficulties — several renowned celebrities have revealed their experiences, hoping to help others. 2 famous singers, Selena Gomez and Adele, have been upfront about their anxiety concerns.

Since Selena’s recent past has been so challenging, she has put a lot of effort into addressing her mental health. She declared, “I have problems with depression and anxiety, and I found it difficult for me to be me.”

Adele has also been open about this topic, discussing the severe anxiety attacks she went through throughout her divorce. “I had the most terrifying anxiety attacks after I left my marriage,” the English singer said.

We can also include an important royal, the lovely and charismatic Prince Harry, who is going through a difficult period in his life. Harry admits he has been receiving treatment for many years, but has never been in a setting where discussing anxiousness was welcomed. Fortunately, his wife Meghan has supported him through it and addressed the problem to help him heal and spread awareness about anxiety.

Have you ever had to deal with anxiety? What advice would you give to someone with this condition?
