The intrusion had a lasting impact on Sandra, manifesting in severe anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Reflecting on the incident, she acknowledged the lasting effects, expressing a sense of being altered by the traumatic event.

“My house was broken into while I was in it. I’m in the closet. This doesn’t end well. I’m in the closet, [which is] not gonna help.” Bullock couldn’t be able to forget this event and had to seek professional psychological help. Later the actress said that the therapy was helpful and helped her to manage her fears.
