It might be not that easy to maintain your self-confidence when there are so many double standards, stereotypes, and expectations. This is exactly what illustrations by artist Lainey Molnar are about. They are about freedom of choice, self-acceptance, relationships, and career expectations. They show how women are perceived by modern society and what pressure they experience.

At Bright Side, we are amazed by how accurate Lainey’s observations are. And we agree with every word in them.

I like how everyone, literally everyone in any country always keeps saying NO ONE WANTS A WOMAN THAT...
but no one ever, just ever mentions no one wants a MAN that... 🤦‍♀️

yeah a man can be as ugly / undeveloped / untrained as he can and he will still find a girl, while if a woman is not 100% perfect and doesn't fit into some unwritten standards, people start to judge

it's 2021 already, but most of the stores still use extremely slim models and mannequins in the stores to display their clothes. Where did they see such women irl? It makes me not feeling self-confident too 🤷‍♀️

they think if they put some plus size girls on the magazine covers they contribute to the society, but they actually keep doing what they were doing all along
