during the summer time I mostly skip moisturizers because my skin gets oily and it hydrates on its own. But during the winter if I don't use a cream, my skin is so dry it hurts

I am actually going to turn one of my large upper arm pieces into a sleeve... it has a vampiress/witch with roses and a full moon with bats... planning on adding a gothic arched stone window, some ivy, cobwebs etc.... I am also planning a piece for my thigh... as I used to play roller derby and as a registered nurse who loves everything 1950s, I am planning a 1950s pinup on quad skates with a nurses uniform on (UK style uniform, not scrubs) 😁

Wow! That's amazing! I can't wait to start playing roller derby hopefully in a year or two. Roller skating is literally the only active thing I can do. (I can still do normal actions but it's complicated) Good luck on your tattoos!!

For the years I played roller derby I absolutely loved it, As a child and teenager I was never off my quad skates then I had a break from skating and didn't pick it back up until I was 30 when I saw an advertisement for roller derby enrollment day with a local team. At the time I was a bit lost and needed to find my tribe... which I certainly found with the roller girls! They came from all walks of life from 18year olds to an experienced player in her late 40's... nurses, accountants, teachers, social workers, shop assistants, care assistants, students... and we were a family, other teams in the region were like extended family. My daughter learned to skate with the team when she was 5 years old during social events, open skating nights and charity events that the team held. Skating was the only active thing I did but I did it well, it was the fittest I had been for years. I changed from playing to refereeing but unfortunately due to ill health I had to hang up my skates but my skates, helmet and pads are still there in the loft. I cannot bear to get rid of them as I hope that even now in my mid 40's I might get back on them! I wish you every luck with your roller derby journey and do not be frightened to go to enrolling events or even approach a team for a taster session on your own, I went on my own and everyone welcomed me with open arms. Have fun!! 😃
