i was a mature hunter in my 20's and looked at them as "pump and dump" however i had 2 friends who married older women, they looked hot in their 30's but ended up looking like their grandmothers as they got older
All I know about this kind of relationships, the older party or version is always rich and reach to an extent in life were they don't have excitments, they no longer want to jump from one person to another and hence all they need is a caring and loving partner to settle with.

I wasn't looking to date a younger man. He pursued me. I had to ask him when he called, "Do you know how old I am?" He did. 3 years later, gotta say, I enjoy the arrangement. I'm in my 50s. Not interested in any more children, not interested in cohabitation. This is working for me.
