The speaker feels solid and well-made, and hopefully, it will last a good length of time. It is a good size to easily handle and has a strong enough volume for either indoor or outdoor use. I tested it with a variety of music genres, all of which sounded really good. A call came through while I was testing it, so I answered it hands-free by pressing a button on the side, and the voice came through loud and clear.
I am told the gift was gratefully received and has been in constant use since it was given to him last weekend — and yes, like most teenagers, he loved the flashing lights when used indoors.
