Promising review: I bought it as a gift for a friend’s teenage son. I wanted a speaker that was well protected because he can be clumsy, which he openly admits. The rubber coating all over the tubular speaker was ideal, and having the flashing colored lights at either end was something I was sure would appeal. It is also waterproof, another essential as he loves being outdoors, walking, cycling, camping, etc., even in wet weather.
As with any purchase, I always try it out before gifting. Well, you have to, don’t you? Behind a rubber-covered lid, I find the charging point — a full charge took maybe an hour, and then I paired it with my phone. Spoken prompts ensure everything is working correctly, pairing is done in seconds, now adjust the volume on the rubberized side controls, again to keep it waterproof.
The sound is really good for a speaker of this size, and increasing the volume doesn’t distort the sound. The multicolored lights change color and flash at both ends, which will be more noticeable indoors but is an extra unique feature anyway.
The speaker feels solid and well-made, and hopefully, it will last a good length of time. It is a good size to easily handle and has a strong enough volume for either indoor or outdoor use. I tested it with a variety of music genres, all of which sounded really good. A call came through while I was testing it, so I answered it hands-free by pressing a button on the side, and the voice came through loud and clear.
I am told the gift was gratefully received and has been in constant use since it was given to him last weekend — and yes, like most teenagers, he loved the flashing lights when used indoors.
A good, solidly made unit with a very nice, balanced sound quality, even at higher volumes. Highly recommended. @RosieSq
