Nowadays, pets can hardly impress or surprise us. Cats, dogs, rodents, and tortoises became a part of our lives quite long ago. But the heroes of this article break all possible and impossible rules: they’ve adopted wildlife and gave them all the love and care possible.

Bright Side adores our 4-legged friends and believes that a sweet home and some attention can turn a savage-looking opossum into a nice pet. Be sure not to miss the special bonus feature at the end of the article.

“We were staying in the countryside and saw our neighbor screaming and running toward us. When he came up, we saw a small squirrel in his hands.”

“The squirrel’s really tiny. He’s just lying quietly. Now this baby lives with us.”

“I was walking my dog and saw this rabbit. He was hopping around in the parking lot and then just chilled in the grass. I took him home. Here’s what’s funny: my wife’s been wanting a rabbit for several months now.”

Meet Piper. His owners adopted him and now he’s happy. Piper’s favorite hobby is painting.

This hog thinks she’s a dog. She loves boiled potatoes, sweets, and when someone’s scratching her belly.

This “baby’s” mom was killed by a hunter, but her daughter was saved by her owners.

“We found a baby parrot on the road a few days back. He wouldn’t look at us the first day and now he wants to cuddle every time he sleeps.”

Here’s Joey, the sea otter baby. He was orphaned and was saved by the Marine Mammal Rescue Center.

“Found this blind, bald baby on the road. Took him home and started to feed him. On the seventh day, he flew out of his box and landed on my finger.”

“This baby was hiding in the shade under a car and couldn’t get to the grass because of the scorching hot asphalt.”

Woody was rescued from a fur farm where he was destined to become someone’s fur collar. He’s been living with his savior for 5 years now and doesn’t want to go to the forest.

“City center, in a crowded park — he was sitting on a billboard. Took me some time to take him down. Now, this cute baby lives with me. He’s as gentle as a kitten!”

He’s a stone marten baby.

This sparrow’s future owner saved him 5 years ago. The baby fell out of the nest. Fortunately, cats didn’t find him first.

“From a scared baby who was stuck in a shed for a month to a gorgeous girl who really loves the heated steering wheel. So glad she’s in my life now.”

“This small Batman got into my house through the chimney. I took him to my shed and brought him some water.”

The sable that didn’t become a fur coat! He has a blog and shares good vibes with all his followers.

“This is Frank. He fell out of his nest. He has splayed legs. We tried to fix his legs the best we could. He waddles like a penguin now.”

“This moose is taking an afternoon nap in my dad’s garden. He often comes here to relax. Dad calls him Timmy.”

“Why on earth did I go to the park that early? I just sat on a bench to relax when I heard someone yelling. Turns out, crows were attacking a baby squirrel.”

“Took him home to feed him.”

“Meet Ruby. We’re adopting her until she’s ready to be released back into the wild.”

She lives in an apartment — it’s you who lives in a foxhole! Her owners love and spoil her.

“This is a baby beaver I saved.”

Sesame the Opossum knows his own name, walks on a leash, and sleeps with his owners. Despite his 50 sharp teeth, he’s really cute, active, and curious.

Bonus: “This rescued dove learns to eat by watching others. No more force-feeding!”

Would you adopt a wild animal? Have you ever had an amazing experience like the people in this article did?
