A Beagle Mama Adopted a Baby Possum and Proved That Love Prevails in All Species

The bond between parents and their children is really special, even if they’re adopted. And that’s exactly what the story of one beagle mom shows us. Sadly, she lost her puppies but managed to find some consolation in a very extraordinary way.

We at Bright Side were thrilled by the story of Molly and the baby possum and we’re very eager to share it with you.

This is a story about a mom and her unusual baby.

Molly the beagle tragically lost her litter of puppies. And after losing them, Molly’s maternal instincts had her going outside and searching for them. A few days later, Molly came back, but not empty-handed.

She brought a baby possum with her, which had been abandoned by its mother. It was destined for them to cross paths. So Molly adopted the baby possum without any hesitation.

To the owners’ surprise, the new relationship works well.

Molly lives on an Australian farm with her owners Elle and Sara Moyle. They were used to watching Molly hang out with other animals from the farm, but seeing her with a baby possum riding on her back was unlike anything they’d ever seen before.

But even though the relationship between these 2 animals is very rare and unusual, what matters most is that both Molly and the possum seem to be happy.

The mom takes care of her baby day and night.

Elle and Sara saw that the possum boosted Molly’s mood after her loss, so they decided to keep the baby and nicknamed her Poss. They say that Molly and Poss are inseparable and that while Poss usually goes to sleep up in a tree, Molly patiently waits nearby in order to keep her baby safe.

This addition to the family has brought happiness to everyone.

It didn’t take Poss long to adapt to its new surroundings either, and after having formed such a strong bond with his new adoptive mom, Poss is now considered a member of the family.

Their relationship is so pure and it really looks like Poss thinks that Molly is her mom and vice versa.
