Queen Elizabeth ll was born on April 21, 1926, with the title Princess Elizabeth of York as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York.

In 1947, at the age of 21, she married Philip Mountbatten, a former prince of Greece and Denmark.

The following year, Princess Elizabeth gave birth to their first child, Charles, and in 1950, they welcomed their daughter Anne into the family.

When her father, King George Vl, passed away on February 6, 1952, Princess Elizabeth became a queen.

Her coronation took place on June 2, 1953.

In 1960, Queen Elizabeth gave birth to Prince Andrew, and in 1964, Prince Edward.

During her reign, Queen Elizabeth traveled to 117 countries out of a possible 195. This makes her, by far, the most-traveled monarch in Britain’s history.

She carried out more than 21,000 engagements.

Trusts set up in her name helped transform lives across the Commonwealth with healthcare projects, mentorship schemes, and environmental initiatives.

Queen Elizabeth ll’s famous motto was: “You have to be seen to be believed.”

She was quite small, so some years ago, her dressers decided that it would be helpful if she wore vibrant colors so that people could spot her easily.
