Having a dream and wishing wholeheartedly for it to be fulfilled is something that unites us as humans. Some people think they push away what they want if they talk about it, while others shout out loud what they want, hoping that their call will help them achieve their goals. And there are those who cling to the saying, “...want it so badly that the universe has no choice but to give it to you.” But there is no doubt that it is not enough to have desires, we must also make an effort to achieve our goals.

At Bright Side, we want to remind you that dreams come true, so we have compiled 10 stories from Hollywood stars who made that happen.

1. Demi Lovato

It was on February 7, 2010 when the singer wrote on her Twitter account: “One day I will sing the National Anthem at a Super Bowl.” Well, that day would come 10 years later. On February 2, 2020, Demi Lovato made their dream come true with a performance so good that it moved the whole world.

2. Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an example of a disciplined man who fought for his dreams. Against all odds, he has fulfilled every dream he has ever had. The first of these was achieved by overcoming the taunts of his friends when he won the Mr. Europe Junior contest in 1965.

3. Jennifer Lopez

When Jennifer López was starting her career, she had a clear purpose: to star in a romantic comedy. At 52, she has fulfilled her dream more than a dozen times. The first time she did it in The Wedding Planner, in 2001, while in 2022 she premiered her latest comedy, Marry Me.

4. Brie Larson

It may sound logical that every actor dreams, at least once in their life, of taking home the statuette at the Academy Awards. But Brie Larson seems to have seen the future when she responded to a follower in 2015, writing on her Twitter account, “I usually only wear pajamas at home on Oscar day. Should I start thinking about that more?” In 2016, she had to change her outfit, as she won the Oscar for Best Actress.

5. Chris Pratt

In a behind-the-scenes recording from 2010, Chris Pratt joked about how Steven Spielberg insisted that he star in Jurassic Park, and he turned him down. But as you know, sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for, as it might come true. And in 2015, as you may already know, Chris played Owen Grady in Jurassic World.

6. Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey, in 1983, read Alice Walker’s The Color Purple in a single day. She gave copies of the book to her friends and when she heard that a movie was to be made from the novel, she decided to get into it even though she had never made a movie before.

She didn’t have to do anything, because the producers did it for her and contacted her to play the character of Sofia in the film directed by Spielberg. Her performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

7. Lady Gaga

She’s dreamed of becoming a great actress since she was a child. She studied acting, but never did well in auditions, so her path was music. But “he who perseveres achieves” and, after establishing herself as a diva with her songs, Lady Gaga became an actress and received a Golden Globe for her performance in American Horror Story and an Oscar for Best Original Song in the movie A Star is Born, in which she also participated as an actress.

8. Jamie Brewer

Our limits are usually in our minds, and this was demonstrated by Jamie Brewer, who has loved the world of show business since childhood and, against all odds, managed to become an actress and also a model. One of her dreams is to become a role model for teenagers and young women.

9. Chris Hemsworth

Even gods have dreams, and that is the case for Thor, or rather Chris Hemsworth, who as a child had already practiced the action of putting his name in concrete. His dream came true in 2019 when he inscribed his name and imprinted his hands on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

10. Henry Cavill

It is very common that as children we imagine that we have powers and that we are superheroes, but some can fulfill that dream thanks to the magic of cinema. This was the case with Henry Cavill, who shared a photo with his followers where he can be seen wearing Superman pajamas as a little boy. We could imagine him jumping from chair to chair, pretending to fly.

What are those dreams that you have yet to fulfill? What do you think it takes to achieve what you set out to do?
