Marriage is not only about watching TV series together and support, but also about various surprises, which are sometimes difficult to predict. Some people manage to move to tears with one little thing, while others’ unexpected gifts make you grab your heart.

  • I’ve been married for 5 years. My husband is that type of a person who may not notice a new hairstyle or manicure, but I don’t take offense.
And yesterday I was removing my makeup before going to bed. So, I’m sitting at the mirror, my husband is drinking tea, he looks at me and suddenly cries out in horror, “What?! They’re not real?!”

  • We’ve been married for 8 years. Recently, my husband began to ask me to dye my hair black. And I don’t want to! But my husband keeps bringing up this topic.
The reason of this soon came to light. I came home early, and there is my hubby staring at the photos of his ex. By the way, she’s a brunette. © Overheard / Ideer
  • My ex changed for the worse during our marriage. My current husband is the exact same guy after 10 years.

  • I couldn’t catch my husband cheating, but I was sure of it. The mistress on his phone was listed as his friend’s girlfriend.
I secretly copied the number and called her, “Hello, I’m Alex’s sister, I hardly found your phone. Alex hasn’t been home for 2 days, he doesn’t answer his phone, my mom and I are on edge. He said he went to see his girlfriend.”
The woman on the other end replied, “He left my place and went home.” At home, Alex had a packed suitcase waiting for him. © Overheard / Ideer
  • I bought my husband a new gaming headset and didn’t say a word when he played for 6 hours straight. He kept checking if I was okay. © LegitimateManner903 / Reddit

“On our 3-year anniversary, my husband surprised me with a photo shoot. I cried when we got them back because of how much joy she captured.”

  • My first 3 marriage proposals were very beautiful. The first husband proposed in Paris, the second one came on a white horse, the third one hired a whole orchestra. Lavish weddings, lots of guests, restaurants, limousines. And all this was initiated by my husbands. But each marriage brought so much pain!
Now I’m married for the fourth time. This husband proposed to me wearing dirty pants, when he brought a box of vegetables, honey and a ring from the village. Nothing flashy, just, “Well, that’s it, marry me.” The wedding was modest, we rented a pizzeria and invited 20 guests.

  • My husband is a big softie in so many unexpected ways. Come to find out, this big tough Guy-Guy who races motorcycles also loves houseplants.
We’ll be at Home Depot for boring homeowner stuff, and he’s always like, “What about this guy? We can’t leave this guy here!” Proceeds to walk around with the tiniest little succulent.
He lets me take care of all of my plants, but boy does he get sad when I accidentally kill one! I have a fern I overwatered, and he’s so worried about! I never saw this coming, I love this man. © JustGenericName / Reddit
  • I met a man online. We talked as friends, and soon he began to complain about his family problems — they often fought, he suspected his wife of infidelity and so on. Then he said that the child was not his.
I advised him to do a genetic test behind his wife’s back and stop worrying. He did. The child was his. He told me about it, said everything was now fine in the family. And never wrote again. © Overheard / Ideer
  • Last year, every time I mentioned, “Oh, I’d like this” to my husband or myself or just in casual conversation, he’d make a list in his phone of all those things. So, come Christmastime, he chose from that list the stuff he’d think I’d like the most.
Not that my husband wouldn’t buy me gifts or that I was surprised he got me something. I was surprised by how much attention he was paying to the details in things I said, and how he kept track of it by himself. It was just a very sweet, surprising thing I thought was a cute idea. © StrawberryFields3729 / Reddit

And these couples shared their love stories that sound like fairy tales.
